Why wouldn't the Cavs sign him? He'd be an upgrade over every PG they have right now... If Marbury wants to continue playing in the NBA when his contract is up, someone will sign him.

Pistons *allegedly* had interest in him when there was speculation that New York was going to buy him out.
We would have been:
Billups/Marbury/Stuckey
Hamilton/Stuckey/Afflalo
Prince/Hayes/Afflalo
McDyess/Johnson/Hermann*
Wallace/Maxiell/Ratliff
With Lindsey Hunter and Cheikh Samb inactive, along with Hermann.

Good fit for the Cavs.

Somebody would take him for the veterans minimum for his talent alone. I mean the Rockets signed Steve Francis and he was arguably in an even worse situation (though a little different considering he was supposed to "turn" it around coming back to where he started and he hasn't been a nuisance while Marbury is actually in the city where he grew up and still can't find a place where he'd fit.)

Players like them suck when they aren't dominating the ball. They don't or can't play a role on a team after or during the end of the MAX contract that they got earlier in their careers.

I agree, but it's not going to stop some team from signing him. I don't blame them either, while a player like Marbury probably won't thrive in a reduced role if all it would take is the veteran's minimum the risk-reward factor kind of works in your favor...
