LeBron James (Supporting Cast)

After watching Kevin Garnett many years without a supporting cast, it was funny the one year he did good was when he had Spree and Cassell he made it the furthest. However we all know that McHale did a horrible job providing a cast. Partly due to the Smith fiasco and the other part was the KG was to good to land a lottery pick in most years.

My point is that we have seen the first cast (Hughes, Marshall and Jones) flop pretty hard. Now we are seeing the second cast ( Wally, Wallace and West) and it seems like they are primed for a new cast. Big Z is the constant, but really holds the team back. Will LeBron ever get a cast while he is in Cleveland?

There isn't 1 guy outside Boobie and maybe big Z who can consistently hit a jumper.

Your right, his cast is pretty pathetic.

I dunno his striped teams mates seem to help him out.

Lebrons Cast isn't as bad as most people want to put it

He has a top 10 center - Ilgauskas
One of the best 3 point shooters - Gibson
A Solid 2 way guard - West

And a bunch of guys who aare capable of helping the team every once in a while: Wally, J Smith, Wallace, Varejao, Pavlovic.

IMHO I believe Tmac has a worst supporting cast(Whenever Yaos out of course).

Am i th only one who thinks Lebron's cast is underrated? I think they're just being misused.

Too much jump shooting is not really going to get you anywhere, Bad part about Cleavland this season is they have declined in defense especially after that trade.

At least his teammates aren't chuckers and play D. What if they had bad hands and didnt play D?

Of course, when you look at that cast of LBJ on paper is pretty sick. If McGrady can do what he did this season with the current cast without Yao and still win 55 games, than LBJ can win 60. I'm being serious, McGrady has a 41 year old center in Deke, a pair of rookies in Scola and Landry at PF with a horrible offensive player in Hayes. At SF McGrady has a big advantage with Battier, who is a good fit on any team in the league. At PG you have Delonte West/Daniel Gibson vs Rafer Alston/Bobby Jackson, I dunno where that would go. Its easy to say on paper LBJ has the better cast, but you can look at it both ways with how each of the players on the Rockets contributed during the streak and throughout the season.

exactly, if its anyone's fault its Mike Brown's not the supporting cast. If he knew even a sliver of offensive strategy we wouldn't be talking about Lebron's lack of help

LeBron's cast is not underrated, and if you're not a Cavs fan, then I'm pretty sure you're pretty damn clueless in regards to his cast if you suggest otherwise and watching them here and there...

We have one slasher

We have one post up threat

We have inconsistent shooters

We have average post passers

We have average ball handlers

The team desperately needs another all star to pair with him... The good news is all the expiring contracts we have beginning this summer..

raptors:

We have NO slasher

We have NO post up threat

We have inconsistent shooters

We have BAD post passers

We have good ball handlers

His team is terrible. You can't count on anyone to do anything well, and the overall team IQ is a disgrace to the NBA.

And yet they win.

LeBron is a star.

Most of teams in the NBA have those problem, just because your team isn't perfect doesn't mean it automatically sucks. Look at Orlando for example.

they don't have a consistent slasher either or great ballhandlers. They only have one post up threat and they rarely give him the ball. Aside from Turkoglu and Lewis who else can you count on the shoot the 3 lights out??

Yet they managed to win 50+ games. While it's true sometimes the cavs do make stupid mistakes IMO Lebron doesn't have it as bad as last year so people should really stop complaining.

Z is a top 10 center by default. There are 20 PFs I'd trade Z for. And top 10 isn't anything to write home about anyway. That's only above average considering 30 centers start in this league (not even since some teams start PFs at C). Gibson is a very good shooter. But Kapono isn't going to put Toronto over the top. Shooters are role players. West is a decent backup 2 way guard. He's a below average starting PG.

Wally and Wallace are well past their prime. Wally couldn't start for the one of the worst teams in the league. Wallace is a one way player who can't play one way like he used to. Sasha's horrible. Varejao's game is very limited.

TMac has a solid sporting cast. The only position where Cleveland has a better player minus LeBron than Houston minus Yao and McGrady is center. Landry and Scola are a solid, efficient PF combo. Battier's a very good role player wing. LeBron would kill for a defender like that who could also shoot. Hughes couldn't shoot. Wally can't defend. Alston's better than West or Boobie. Then you have shooters in Head and Jackson.

Cleveland fans are confusing having a bad supporting cast with having a unversatile supporting cast. They have the latter, but at the very least, each roleplayer knows and follows his role. LeBron would be much more ill-served having a team of chuckers and non-defense players.

No LeBron = NO wins for the Cavs, it's that simple...

Ilgauskas was impressive today. Too bad he can't play like this everyday.

What the Cavs biggest problem is they don't have consistent outside shooting. Szczerbiak is crap.

Put Peja, Kapono or Miller on the Cavs and watch the floor spread and they would be much improved......

Too bad the Cavs let Kapono go and kept Wagner and Diop instead.
