A triple double with 40 points and either 20 rebounds and 10 assists or 20 assists and 10 rebounds?

I don't know, but I know the last person to have a quadruple double was Hakeem Olajuwon (I think he was the last to do it).

No shaq recorded 10 assists only once in his career and he had a tripple double but he scored far less than 40 that game, he was on the heat when he did it.

Wilt for sure had several of those games. BR doesn't have box scores for games before '86 tho.

Tim Duncan was pretty close I guess in Game 6 in 2003 NBA Finals

Shaq went for 28, 20, 9 and 8 in Game 2 of the 01 Finals. He also had a handful of 40-20 games during the three-peat but never came close to a triple double.

Only others I could find, without looking too hard, were by Elgin Baylor:
38, 23 and 8 against the Celtics in 1963 and 40, 18 and 9 against the Pistons in 1961.

Casually flipping through a biography on Wilt:

30, 39 and 8 blocks against the Celtics, 1965.
46, 34 and ? blocks against the Celtics, 1966.
24, 32, 13 assists and 12 blocks against the Celtics, 1967.
29, 36 and 13 assists against the Celtics, 1967.
36, 26 and 11 blocks against Detroit, 1969.
32, 34 and 12 blocks against Philly, 1972.

Great game by Walt Frazier in 1970 Finals: 36 points, 19 assists, five steals going head-up against Jerry West.

Kareem, against Lakers in 1972 to break their 33-game win streak, 39 points, 20 rebounds, 10 blocks.

Charles Barkley almost did it

As far as regular season is concerned these are the closest since 1987, providing the player had a triple double.

Larry Johnson got 29 points, 20 rebounds and 11 assists, if you're looking for a guy with 20+ boards and 10+ assists.

These stat lines would be hard to reproduce in a rigged video game...good lord.

Hence, people should not even be comparing today's big men to Hakeem, David, Patrick etc... those guys were truely brilliant centers, I didnt mention Wilt and Bill, because I wasnt around and didnt see them play. But many here can say they've seen David, Hakeem and Patrick play.


Its like Camby mating with Stoudemire... basically... a 30 point 20 rebound 10 block 5 assists 5 steals kinda big guy..... no one in the league can do that... even Duncan... maybe once... but Hakeem and Robinson those 2 especially, flirted with those numbers a lot....

And by a lot you mean several times over the course of their long careers. There have been very few of those sorts of games, although a significant portion do belong to the centers of the 90's.

And to the guy who said LeBron got 12 blocks in a game earlier in the thread...I'm calling you on that.

Dwight's had a flurry of 25/20/5 type games, but that's as close as it comes. Amare will score big and rebound big occasionally, but he usually does one or the other.
