He is one of the best point guards in the NBA but he never gets the recognition he deserves. He averages 17/7/4 on .500 shooting and carred a Philly team that people thought would be in the Eastern basement to the playoffs. He's been doing it since his college days when he owned Bibby's Arizona in the final four, through to Denver where he was good enough to make the Iverson trade look like a lateral move.

Yepppp way too underrated... been saying it for awhile, I liked Denver with him to be honest.

He's underrated because once he showed he could lead the league in assists, he never really lived up to that. It's just odd to see a player peak so early in their career. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but just what many people think. I saw his highlights for game 1 though. He looked good.

Philly is a good spot for him.. He does well when he has full charge of the team and has a three guys he can lob it to for easy assists. Also helps that he's in the east now, as he's starting to shoot more. Miller is what he is though, consistent, but usually not wow'ing most of the time.

Yeah, Miller is a v good player that gets over looked. Hands down the 2nd best PG in the East IMO.

Let's not get carried away here. Andre Miller is a very solid point guard and a good player, but "one of the best point guards in the NBA?" I guess it depends how deep you go with "one of."

CP, Deron, Nash, Kidd, Billups, Arenas, Davis, and Parker are all better than him.

Andre Miller has always been under rated, I've always liked him.

As a "point guard", he is better than Tony Parker. I would put him just below Billups. It might sound crazy, but when you factor in how "robust" Billups is as a point guard, reliable is the other word you can use, Miller is the same, except the 3 point shooting. But is pretty much even in reliability. He doesnt put up HUGE numbers night in and out, but he anchors that PG spot.

My statement above about Tony Parker, Parker is the more exciting player and scores more points, is obviously the more explosive scorer. But Parker is a mediocre play maker, he is a scoring point guard, who gets assists numbers from spot up shooters as opposed to "creating" dynamic plays, watch Nash, Kidd, Paul, Williams etc... Miller, Billups, Calderon, Davis etc are second tier "play" makers. Tony Parker isnt the play maker as those point guards mentioned. He is a good player overall however, you cant take that away.


But back to Miller... he is definitely a very very reliable point guard and on a right team, technically he is, but on a team that has a legit scorer or 2, he will average 10 assists. Nuggets made a mistake, he is the player they could really use now. With K-Mart, Nene and Camby and Melo.... Miller would be producing better numbers. But his impact as a leader in the 76ers is paying off...

He's definitely in the top 3 point guards in the East, depending on what you consider a healthy Arenas, if he's #2 or #3.

this pisses me off. Philly fans have been saying this since the Iverson trade and everyone laughed and now just because they beat Detroit, led by Miller, he gets the recognition. **** that.

well that makes him so good IMO. he knows his role and he's not doing something he's not capable of. a very smart player

I've never underrated him and from day one atfer the AI trade I was saying or at least thinking (because I don't care about denver actually) that denver is way better off having miller but they needed to take the hard way...

i've always loved his game. i remember when he was drafted i was rooting so hard for him to fall to the knicks (i don't think they were even that close to getting him) and then wishing that they would trade for him when he was in cleveland.

hasn't conditioning for him been an issue in the past? i don't remember but when i was reading about free agents in 2003 i thought i read something about that. regardless, he kind of shows how athleticism is overrated in the NBA.

Miller certainly is underrated.

Well I certainly underrate Miller. He overdribbles and can't shoot. But he played very well yesterday. Let's see if it continues.
