Who does T-mac need to team up with to have some success in the playoffs?

Of course with prime Shaq or prime Duncan he would have been in the conference finals/NBA Finals Yearly and won a few titles perhaps.

But other than them, who does he need on his team or is Yao the answer?

Let's say that you take out Yao from the team and replace him with someone else.

Would T-mac and Dwight do the trick? What about T-mac and KG? Tmac and Dirk? T-mac and Bosh?

At this point I don't think T-mac nees to be the man, but he needs someone that can take the pressure off of him and that is not injured a lot. Who could that be?

That's what I am saying. He would need to work with someone that consistently plays and is not injured.

Dirk? Maybe if you're interested in building a team with the mentally weakest foundation in the NBA.

T-mac is a hell of a player, and all this "first round virgin" bullsh*t talk is really undeserved (he goes an assist away from a triple-double and all they talk about is him "choking" in the 4th...hello! he can't do it all himself, but I digress). However, T-mac needs a tough-minded contributor on the court with him. Whether that bulldog type player is his co-star, or if it's his 3rd option...he needs one. If the Rockets can get someone like that then it'd be very beneficial to T-mac.

Not exactly answering the question here....but if T-Mac and Yao had like a Marion with them, it would be scary

Tmac today shares the ball and trusts his teammates a lot more than the TMac of Orlando.

Mcgrady had a chance to play with Dwight in Orlando, and demanded a trade ("sorry, but he's not enough). His loss.

Obviously McGrady wanted to leave Orlando's situation. He was asked to bear more losing seasons with no support by drafting another high schooler and hoping he'd develop quickly.

The Magic GMs have been terrible in the past. How can you tell your superstar that "we want you to keep giving it your all, but we won't get better players to help you to do that right now."

Tracy in my eyes can play with anyone who is consistent. His maturity has grown a lot over the year. He doesn't even care about who takes the game-winning shots. He plays to win. I've come to admire that from him now.

Yao, Alston, Battier, Scola and McGrady would've been a deadly combination that could have gone far in the playoffs. Injuries will always plague Tracy - either directly affecting him, or indirectly with his teammates.

Still, based on pure talent level and production, Yao Ming is a better and more dangerous player than Dwight Howard.

Hindsight 20/20. It is dumb to say t-mac made a bad decision at that time, it's not like t-mac knew Yao was going to be injured.

He did lead the Mavs past the Spurs when the Spurs won the most games ever in franchise history. Not everyone can say they beat the Spurs. In fact since 2001 other than the Lakers, the Mavs were the only team to beat the Spurs in the postseason.
