-Chris Paul was the first player to average 20 ppg and 10 apg since Tim Hardaway in '93. He was 2nd in the NBA in PER, he lead the NBA in assists and steals. He also led the NBA in wins shares and win shares above average. He also helped lead the Hornets from the lottery to the #2 seed in the Western Conference. Lebron had to do the most with least during the season, had the highest PER of any player in the NBA, led the league in scoring, was 2nd in win shares and win shares above average, and is the only player in NBA history other then Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan to ever average 30 ppg, 7 apg, and 7 rpg. Garnett helped lead the largest turnaround in NBA history. Kobe brought the Lakers back to prominence. Ginobili became one of the biggest crunch time basketball players in the NBA this year.

-KG spearheaded the NBA best defensive team and also led the NBA in defensive rating. Camby led the league in blocks, block %, and was the goalkeeper on a team that routinely funneled players into him. Josh Smith is one of 4 players in the past 20 years to average at least 2.5 bpg and 1.5 spg (David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Andrei Kirilenko). Duncan is one of the best one on one defenders at his position and is probably the premier help defender in the NBA as well. Rasheed Wallace is one of the most underrated defenders in the NBA during his career and was amazing again this year.

If you want to go purely stats then Lebron is number 1. If you want to take the best player off the best team then Garnett is MVP. I think Kobe is actually #2 with Chris Paul being the clear cut MVP then Kobe 2nd and Lebron 3rd.

I think people neglect the fact that this is the first year the Hornets have been healthy which I feel has a much bigger effect on their W/L record then Paul's play alone.

Peja is having a great year shooting the ball, his best in a long while, David West is having an all-star year, Chandler is a top 10 C in the league, not to mention the addition of Mo Pete in the offseason and Bonzi Wells mid season.

Paul statiscally has been great, but people attribute way to much success to his play alone.

I don't think this has happened very often, but I agree completely with everything you said.

Blah blah, you were wrong, get over it.

CP3's been absolutely phenomenal, beyond friggin belief, don't get me wrong. However, too much is made about his "weak" supporting cast. He has a top 10 center who averages a double-double, is a defensive presence, and whos long arms make for the perfect alley-oop. He has an all-star caliber low post scorer in David West. He has one of the best shooters in the NBA in Peja. And Morris Peterson makes for a more than reasonable 5th option.

CP3 is going to rewrite the record books, but the media does a fine job of neglecting how talented his teammates are.
