flopping..

I know there has been a lot of threads about flopping lately, but what NBA officials reviewing the tape AFTER the games and fine players for OBVIOUS flops..Andre Miller's flop at the end of the half was a great example of an obvious flop that could result in a fine..
I don't think it would work well with refs, because the game is too fast and too difficult to judge whether a player flopped, since the refs can't review the play..
you can't fine every flop, since some of them are very good and look legit..but why not fine the obvious flops after the game? surely players would flop less if they could face a big fine from the NBA..
also to add to that..why not make it like the technical rule? if you reach a certain number of obvious flops that have to be reviewed, it can result in a suspension for 1 game..

CB4 takes charges. I've seen him flop a couple of times but who doesn't. To understand true flopping look no further than Manu Ginobli.

lol. you are funny. bosh is not a flopper, never was. he may have done it once in game 3, and its clear that you are basing this joke of a post on that game.
magic fans need to stop whining and get ready for game 4. it should be a good one.

Especially since they're up 2-1 and have home court advantage.

yea ok, Bosh isn't a flopper. I'll believe ya when me **** turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
I've been wanting the NBA to take a stance for years on flopping. It's getting progressively worse, and is ruining the game of basketball in the NBA, IMO.
I don't know how well fines would work, but $1000 per noticeable flop could work. But it'd be really hard to enforce since players could argue there's no way to prove they fell on purpose (unless there's no contact at all).
I'd really just like them to start telling the refs to just let more of these go with no-calls. Get back to where the player had to have their feet set, not moving, and outside the lines. Remember when players used to have to get set and literally take a hit from a player charging down the court? Now all they have to do is slide in front of them and fall down. Or take a shoulder and fall.
It needs to be addressed, but it's just so hard to enforce. I'd say just more no-calls. They'll stop flopping intentionally if they're more likely to give up 2 easy points.

Make it like hockey - penalty for a dive; so in basketball it would be foul for a flop. If need be call the foul on both players, the one with the infraction and the one doing the flopping like hockey does.

why would you penalize the person being flopped against?
And that clip reminds me of when I was watching Allen Iverson a few years ago. He was trailing the play and the ball was stolen, the player drove past him on a break away, and as they passed him (a good 5 feet to his right) he jerked backwards like he had just been hit in the shoulder, funniest thing I had ever seen. I couldn't believe he tried to get away with it. Just glad the refs didn't fall for it.

we have a winner.
now mind you, that shameless bit of theatrics came with his team holding a double digit lead and the game's outcome pretty much decided.
it's like going to the deck to get calls, no matter how ridiculous he looks doing it, is some sort of reflex.
raptors fans would have to be living in bizarro world--with chris bosh playing the role of "bizarro superman", the totally powerless power forward--to believe that bosh is not a flopper.
