No. The only reason he's even a hall of famer is because he's white. He'd be a smarter Rashard Lewis.

Yes. Today, tomorrow and every day of the week.
Just a question but how many of Bird's games have you seen?

That comment is painfully racist, as well as unbelievablly ignorant.
Do even the smallest bit of research and come back.

What is it about this era that you think would suddenly bring his value down?
I hated Bird, but his talent was insane.

One can argue Top 5, but he definately is one of the best of all time.
So YES.
In fact the Magic / Bird rivalry helped to launch the NBA toward success. The NBA would not be where it is today if not for this duo.

He was a great shooter, and clutch. A clutch Kapono, nothing more.

You are either

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and pick a

The guy averaged 24/10/6 for his career on nearly 50% shooting and 89% from the FT line. Anyone who plays for 13 years and puts up those numbers is an insanely gifted player. The guy was just sick. And the stats don't tell the half of it.

Manu wishes he was 1/5th as good a Bird.
He was just flat out beastly along with Magic during the 80's....

Assuming, he's 6th all time behind MJ, Wilt, Russell, Kareem, and Magic, I don't think so. If he played today, I don't think he would be the best SF right now with Lebron here. If Bird can bring his Celtics team with him, then he'll be the same place as he is now: 6th

I don't think people realize how good of a defender and post player he was. Everyone remembers his shooting, but forgets he was 6'9" and played a lot down low as well.
9 time All-NBA 1st team, and a 3 time All-NBA Defensive 2nd Team. 3 time NBA MVP, 2 Finals MVPs, 3 Championships.
What more do you want from the guy?
