I think the Marijuana situation has thrown him off his game. I thought it would affect him because it's such a big secret to just let out and he had bad timing.

I don't know Josh Howard has always been a choker. He was the main reason Dallas lost to Miami in the finals, people just like using Dirk and Avery as scapegoats.

Trade Josh Howard for Grant Hill.

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if he hits the market.

It probably did affect him, but he sucked the 2 games prior to opening his mouth too.

Can anyone explain what is going on with J-Howard? i watched mavs games for a couple of years when i lived in Dallas and the kid was a favorite, he played good defense and drove to the rim on offense. Now it seems like he is settling for long jumpshots on every other possession. seriously, did i miss something? what went wrong

Howard scored 47 points on a lot of jumpshots in one game. He hasn't looked back since. He thinks he's Kobe Bryant. He is Kobe Bryant... with a broken thumb, leg, ankle, and wrist- also with half a brain (seriously, iq is like 20). I mean Kobe has Howard trumped on off-the-court problems, but Howard is trying to catch up with the mary-j.

Josh Howard is shooting around 26% in this series.

TWENTY SIX PERCENT AS THE "SECOND OPTION"

His game has always been slashing to the rim and putting the pressure on the defense, but now it seems all he does is settle for the jumpshot which has never been his strength.

Well said. Dirk is definitely the heart and soul of the Mavs, and I have gained a heap of respect for him since he has returned back from his injury "80% healthy" carrying the team and putting up crazy numbers.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that there is a seven-footer waiting to block the living hell out of him should he drive.

so that should force him to jack up contested fadeaways and play no D?? Dude is getting burned by Peja. Absolutely dominated by Peja.

Give me a break.

Josh Howard has a sucked HUGE donkey balls this series, plain and simple. It's not Avery's fault. It's not b/c Chandler is in the paint (please). It's Josh Howard's fault.

Josh Howard for someone like Jeff Green or Maggette please Cuban. Hell, maybe even Bobby Simmons would help us more than Jho.

i think josh is getting exposed as the 2nd option. he cant hang.

hes more of a hustle/energy player. if defense is focused on him hes going to buckle. kind of like marion, marion and josh do great against unplanned D but in the playoffs teams have several days sometimes weeks to prepare for this kind of stuff.

howard i still an allstar he just needs some pressure taken off of him and he'll be great again.

the Mavs acquired the wrong Net at the trade deadline..if they got Vince Carter, I'd have no doubt they'd be winning this series right now..look at how he played in the 2nd half of the season when the Nets were pushing for the playoffs..he would have been the Mavs best passer and is a much better scorer than Howard..they could have gotten him for less too IMO.

his numbers improve in the playoffs.

When Dirk was out, he avg more than 30ppg (efficiently).

He and Kidd never seemed to click, and that's the problem.
