How do you feel about Andrea Bargnani

Raptor fans go away, I've already read what you have to say multiple times.
So for those of you who aren't Raptor fans, do you think Bargnani has the potential to live up to being the #1 pick?
I also wanted to ask, how long was it before Wiz fans/others began to call Kwame Brown a bust? What excuses would Wiz fans come up with to defend Kwame's play early on in his career? (I imagine he had his supporters).
Thank you. Raptor fans, I've already heard what you have to say go away please.

I'm very happy that Toronto decided Aldridge and Roy wouldnt be good enough for them.

That's a good way of looking at it. When he went up against your respective team, where you impressed with his skillset?

What concerns me about Bargnani is his lack of motivation. In all honesty... I'd type out a longer post but my roommate is a freaking **** and hasn't showered in days, so the room smells like crap, AND I can't breath right now.

He's to soft to be Dirk ( Read that again)

I still it's still early to assess and predict his career, but I think he's extremely raw on many aspects of the game. And with that being said, I don't think he has potential to attain a respectable starting position in the long run.

So are you going to run away? Return with a mask and post again.

I think he gets hated too much, he's still rather young and had a pretty impressive rookie season. He has a unique skill set but right now he's still too one dimensional and raw in other aspects of his game. I still think he can work it out, if he develops a better work ethic and bulks up a bit more, but it's up to him.

He's awful. No defense. No rebounding. He's too tall to guard players as weak as him and too weak to guard players as slow as him. He's got too little athleticism and skill to be a good scorer. He's not a good playmaker. He's not physical or gritty. In fact all he can do is shoot spot up jump shots. And he's not excellent at that either.

I've been VERY disappointed in him; he's had a very bad season, but he still has a lot of potential.
You see games where you can see why he was the # 1 pick.
First of all, I don't think Toronto is the right team for him; I think he's a PF and they already have a great one in Bosh.
I mean, the guy is 7 feet tall, who can spot up and shoot and take you off the dribble and he also happens to be a decent athlete.
All the skills are there for him to be a great player, he just needs to gain more confidence and go to a team that will play him at the PF position.
I wouldn't give up on him just yet.
However, in hindsight, Toronto should have taken Gay or Aldridge.

No defense. Poor shooter.. No rebounding... No motivation .. Soft.. Would not last in the CBA. The only reason he's still in the NBA is because Colangelo is trying to safe face, hoping he pans out to be mediocre NBA player.
Colangelo has built a team that's softer than a baby's bottom (Eastern Conference Phoenix Suns.)

He's going to get unfairly judged, because of his draft spot, but a lot of teams didn't have him as the number 1 ranked guy, but there were a lot of guys with really close draft grades, so it wasn't an enormous reach.
As a player right now, he's just another bench player to me when he comes into the game.
As far as potential, I never really though he would be much more than a quicker Okur, I never saw Dirk potential, he's just not an aggressive guy, and for all the flack he gets, Dirk is a solid rebounder, a passable defender, and he can attack the rack fiercely.
I had Gay as my top prospect by a lot in that draft, and I think he's showing that now, and also would be a better fit.
Hate to bring it up again, but boy did the Raps get screwed, Oden is everything they need in the front court, and then some.

everyone else on that raptors team is overrated
every season their fans are always boasting about the teams talent, optimism about the season etc, they build your hopes and fail you straight away.

I'm sorry, but he's just so terribly raw. He's a liability out there and his career really can't excel past 13/4 in big minutes. He'll be like Turk before this season the rest of his career IMO. He'll get hot some games but I doubt he'll be able to find that consistency. This pick will hurt the Raptors franchise more than the Araujo pick in the long run, because the shot at the consensus #1 who in my mind was Aldridge could have totally changed the shape of the team. Despite Aldridge and Bosh being similar players, Aldridge is and will be 10x the player Bargnani is.
But there are games where Bargnani looks unstoppable out there. He just hits his jumpers, plays some good man defense and is extremely quick for a 7 footer. But he just can't find that consistent rate to be playing at and when he does put together a string of games that are consistent, they are usually averages around 10/3 off bad %. Sadly, in the majority of the Raptors games this season, Bargnani was a shooter that couldn't shoot.
