Playoffs Prove It...East is JV

Anybody else feel like watching an Eastern Playoff game is like watching the JV team play on your HS?

There is so much more talent and skill in the West.

Orlando disposed of Toronto but watching the games Toronto was just awful. The Magic played well but Toronto's defensive rotation was bad. Leaving open threes all day, the Magic didn't even sweat. IDK how good the Magic are, but it seemed like Toronto were just overmatched.

Cleveland-Washington, seriously, how do you lose by 30 one game and then win by 36 the next? That is a sign of bad teams all around in that series.

The most competitive series has been PHI-DET, but how does DET, the team with the 2nd best record not finish off PHI? It's a 2-2 tie. DET is very inconsistent.

BOS-ATL could be a good series too, I expect Celtics to win though, rather easily.

The games are 100x more entertaining to watch in the West. You watch the game and it is noticeable the skill differential between the East and the West. All 8 of the Western teams have more talent than their East counterparts.

San Antonio>Boston
LA Lakers>Detroit
New Orleans>Orlando
Utah, Houston, Phoenix, even Denver destroy what the East have to offer.

East is the East bro.

Yes other than Detriot and Boston....every other East playoff team would lose to every single West playoff team in a 7 game series but that really isn't relevant. Its just something you deal with. Winning in the playoffs is winning in the playoffs regardless of what conference. Conference superiority is just something we discuss on message boards.

Actually if anything I think it shows that the "terrible" teams that got in there aren't so bad.

Philly finished the season 30-12 over their last 42.

Atlanta has a ton of young talent, playing very hard.

I'd take either of those two teams over the Denver team I've seen play so far.

This has been discussed. Obviously we all know the ratings on the Western conference playoff games are higher...

I get a feeling that Detroit might be fighting for 8th seed in the west and boston would be for 1st thru 5th.

Rofl. Didn't that happen in Games 3 and 4 of the Spurs-Suns series? Suns got blown out, then blew out the Spurs.

But it still believe. The Spurs are still a good team.

this statement is ironic..... how can detroit and boston beat a west team and the rest of the east can't?? DETROIT AND BOSTON CAN'T EVEN BEAT A EAST TEAM LOL........... both series are tied........ don't be stupid..... no team in the east can beat the top 5 west teams...... no chance

Well the west seems to have more one sided series than the east, so that has to mean something. Denver is getting killed, Dallas too, Houston and Phoenix as well.

What's funny is that a solid portion of fans picked that the Pistons/Sixers series would go 6, and it's still on target for that. So I'm not sure what's changed between then and now.

I agree with you on this.

It's odd that every year we hear how superior the West is, and yet, in the last four years, the Finals have been:

East in 5 (Detroit>LA)
West in 7 (Spurs > Detroit)
East in 5 (Miami > Dallas)
West in 4 (Spurs > Cavs)

If anything, what's interesting, besides that East and West have been going back and forth for the past four years is that the East teams seem to get the job done 1 game better in the Finals than the West teams :)

7 game series not 2 game series. You don't be idiotic. This is the playoffs...7 game series not 3 games series. Until Philly and ATL actually win 4 games against Detroit and Boston you can't prove my point wrong.

Dallas, PHX and Denver are the bottom 3 teams you don't count. I find it hard to believe that Orlando straight down to Atlanta would beat any of those 3 teams in a 7 game series. Not a 3 games series...not a 1 games series. A 7 game series.

Yet Detroit Philly & Boston ATL are the best 1st round series. The first round in the west hasn't been competitive. Those 50 win lower seeds look like frauds right now.

The Hawks have as many wins as the Mavs and Suns combined.

Hey, if this makes you feel better about Houston losing in the first round again, so be it.

At least the low seeds in the East are putting up a fight rather than rolling over like Denver and Dallas.

I hope you realize that the final matchup says nothing about the relative strength of the conferences..

Considering some west fans have openly declared the East has no shot in the finals in this thread, I'd say the last few finals are pretty damn relevant.

In any case call me when Detroit or Boston get eliminated, other wise wise it just comes across as a Rocket fan whining his team is about to get bounced again.

I hope you realize that since basketball is all about matchups, the only definitive statement about East vs. West is that the East champion matches up slightly better against the West champion since the West dominant era ended with the Pistons.

If this was a game of war where the higher card always wins, you have a point, but since basketball is about matchups, some 8 seeds will do better against some #1 seeds than 4 and 5s, etc.
