What is up with the playoffs schedule? San Antonio will play New Orleans on Saturday, but there are three remaining series and two of the three could go to 7. Why is it that the Semi starts despite there are series that are finishing?

It rewards the teams for finishing off their series early with rest before the Conference championships if they finish off their second round opponent early.

The NBA doesn't adjust who plays who by virtue of record in the playoffs like the NHL does. That way when teams finish off their opponents they can move on without waiting to see how the remainder of the first round is going to turn out.

yeah from what i remember they ALWAYS do this

they did it when the hornets were in the playoffs a few years ago

i was wanting ABC to put on game 6 of the hornets/heat instead of game 1 of other series.

some series were on game 2 by the time we finished and lost game 7

There is a game thread. I usually update the first post with the schedule whenver they are out with it. Check there, I always update every series.
