Probably not. Most players don't win, even if you're just positive your player/team has MVP/championship potential, the reality is they probably won't.

yea i agree...but it's not like he hasn't had his opportunities, i mean the guy has had plenty he just hasn't been able to take advantage of them and somehow his team his came up short every single year...but when it's all said and done, his legacy will probably be written as one of the great point guards to have never won a championship

I honestly think Steve Nash will never win a championship. As for what his legacy will be if he never wins a championship... Well like I said in another thread (I believe this one was about KG though), what is his legacy?
Seriously, what is Steve Nash's legacy? Does he really have a legacy?
He's only risen to prominence these last couple of years with Phoenix. These Phoenix Suns teams that can't get past the Spurs are basically like the old Sacramento Kings teams that couldn't get past the Lakers...

No..
He's what, 34 ?
He doesn't have a legacy.. He had two or three really good seasons in PHX, and some solid seasons in Dallas...He has two questionable MVP's, and has never won anything in June...
As for his numbers ?? They're no better than the numbers that someone like Tim Hardaway was putting up early and in the prime of his career... And he doesn't have a legacy... I don't see one for Nash..

no defense = no rings

He will have a legacy just because of the fact that he has 2 MVPs. Future RealGMers will say he had godlike defense and would own every superstar if he was in the league. 2 MVPs is huge. No one will actually remember that both MVPs were questionable.

I think he'll remembered in the same way Mark Price is remembered. A deadly shooter who had a run as one of the best points in the game for a stretch, but didn't win enough or stay at the top long enough to go down in history as one of the greats.
The MVPs will obviously boost his recognition, but I'm guessing he'll be remembered as one of the worst winners of the award. No disrespect to him, but I think that is what will people will say 10-15 years from now when they look back at past winners.

Next year I think they can have a good chance. First full season with Amare being a beast and Shaq.

Suns are no longer run and gun and they performed worse in the playoffs because of that.
Their best shot to win was the run and gun team of 05-06, where if not for Raja Bell getting injured in the WCF, they probably would have won that year.

If Phoenix was a level better defensively (and played it consistently), and had another legit offensive creator on the wings (like a Joe Johnson type of player), I could've definitely seen them winning a title.
I don't think just being better defensively would of got it done. Because outside of Nash, nobody else could run their offense enough and make things easier on Nash, and being less reliant on Nash to play well. So as teams have done (regular season and playoff exposure), they key in on him and bother him, thus containing him and notably effecting the Phoenix offense. Which is the requirement for them to play well and win.
Unless there are some serious, pretty fluid changes in Phoenix, Nash isn't going to win a title there. Depends where he goes after that, which I think is a good possibility he will leave Phoenix some time.

I just couldn't of seen that small, speed-ball Phoenix team beating the balanced, varied-skill, experienced, and tough Miami team led by Riley/Wade/Shaq.
I think the Heat would of won in 5 games.
