The video replay for the Magic incident is an obvious needed change.

For the intentional fouls off-the-ball, you could view it as protecting players who can't shoot freethrows. I think Stern believes it makes the game less enjoyable to watch/ruins flow and wants to look at it.

If they agree to revise intentional fouls off-the-ball, they could change it to something similar like the clear path foul rule they added 2 years ago (link). Instead of 2 shots, it's 1 shot and the team retains possession.

Or they could allow the team to choose whoever is on the court to shoot the freethrows when a foul is called off-the-ball.

It should be one shot for that player that is fouled and the ball back.

I would change it to let whoever the coach wants shoot the free throws. Of course this is one of those rules that once you take away the advantage no one would ever intentionally off the ball foul.

one shot and the ball back would really be good. Hack a shaq would completely be eliminated unless the suns were stupid enough to pass to him in crunch time

i think if more fouls are called away from the ball.. we'd see more flops and more players taking advantage of it therefore disrupting the rhythm of the game .. also.. how are you supposed to differentiate between a intentional foul and a legit foul? any player could totally make any foul look unintentional.. which in turn will raise more referee controversy.

i think the rules are just fine.. if an NBA player sucks so bad that he doesn't make his free throws, we shouldn't reward him.

Just the middle ground. i foul Shaq and their team gets possession, if Shaq misses i disrupted their flow (strategy) but i don't get the advantage (they retain possession)...

Heck, i could decide to foul Shaq again, just to add insult to injury.

If a guy can't make a freethrow coaches should be able to make him pay for it.

I don't mind at all when teams employ the hackashaq strategy. It's an interesting strategy.

There's no doubt it is an interesting strategy. But the case is, coaches can abuse it. i am not saying that there are coaches that will be doing that, but what is it to stop them from every team using this strategy very early on in the game?

2 scrubs enter the game just to hack at your weak link in the first two minutes just to destroy any form of rhythm. It is an interesting strategy indeed. Nothing wrong with it even 'cause it's in the rules.

If you want us to enjoy the game more then take away all the falling down and the acting. We don't pay 400 bucks a ticket to watch grown men act like babies.

I like the hack-a-$hitty FT shooter. Both teams are taking on a risk.

if you are going to pay a professional ball player 15 to 20 Mil a YEAR when he can't even make a FREE throw then you deserve to be punished by having him put on the line
