Put yourself in D'Antoni's shoes

You're an NBA coach fielding offers from teams. Do you cash in with the big $30-million contract although it's a more difficult situation (i.e. Knicks), or do you take the considerably smaller contract where your chances of success are greater (Bulls)?

Consider it a general question, not a matter of preference between the Knicks/Bulls/Suns.

I stay with the Suns if I can.

New York definitely. Not just because I'm a fan but the extra money + an owner who, while a total douchebag, will invest all his money into the franchise, whereas Chicago is always penny-pinching.

Forget about the Suns/Knicks/Bulls... it's a general question of money vs. situation.

I think that success is a relative term when considering different franchises. Taking the Knicks to the playoffs would be a success while I think that the Bulls would expect more. Not all successful coaching jobs end in a championship. So he could help his career and cash in, all in the nations biggest market

its not like the suns situation is THAT great. nash and shaq aren't exactly great for a coach that plans on coaching for more than 1-2 years. one could argue the younger team in the east is a better situation, even without considering the money.

I thought with Isiah gone, the Knicks would stop offering rediculous contracts to overrated talent

I would like to see the Knicks run on basketball court, not when they steal a bike in Harlem.

He is using the Knicks as leverage to get the Bulls to pony up more dough. There is no way he's interested in that Knick job looking at their roster. Just disgusting, and he knows it.

He'll get his cake and eat it too. Smart.

Depends on how much money he has made so far and how much money the Bulls are offering.

Personally, I'd go far a big contract first to get financial security. After that contract is up, I'd consider going for a better situation and less money.

I think he'd be a great guy for the Knicks.

The Knicks now have a competent GM and an owner who will pay to get the player they want. Its not exactly a terrible situation.

take the money with the knicks.

they'll probably buy him out after 2 years anyway....and then he'll get the money, and get to go where he wants.

Don't the Suns want to fire D'Antoni anyways? Definitely the Knicks.
