calling himself Superman?
Shaq was the first guy to call himself superman. He has tattoos and the logo all over his belongings. Plus they even played the Superman theme when he was a Laker I think.

Dwight did not give himself this nickname and he does not call himself Superman. The media does all that, not Dwight.
I'm sure Shaq could care less.

I watched Shaq get outscored and have his shot blocked by a scrub like Calvin Booth this season.
If that didn't offend him nothing can.

Well I think it all starter with that soldier song, saying how much he likes it and what not. Then it took off with the slam dunk contest and he went along with it after that.

Dwight never called himself Superman, other people called him Superman. Shaq was the only one to call himself Superman. Shaq is just an attention whore, and is mad his time is over, so he got bitchy about it.

Dwight may have never called himself Superman in the media, but he's the one who wore the cape during the dunk contest. That essentially was a self declaration that he's Superman.
btw, sounds like you are still bitter about how Shaq left Orlando.

Who cares what Shaq thinks about it.
Dwight is a much better player and is the Superman of the NBA, in my opinion.
Shaq is washed up and still thinks he's a Superstar.
Who cares what Shaq thinks anymore; maybe if this was the 1992-2005 Shaq, it would be an interesting question, but Shaq is finished.
He's retiring in 2 years, and in my opinion, he should retire after this season.

I'll agree that Shaq shouldn't complain (has he even done so ?) that Dwight is now being called Superman because frankly that nickname isn't really strongly associated Shaq anyways in the public eye (Diesel / Big Aristotle are probably the one's people most associate with Shaq).
Also that nickname is frankly rather uncreative/pedestrian. I guess it's better than Dwight being nicknamed DH12 but not much better.
However the above poster's position that once you're "washed up" then your opinion shouldn't matter and therefore new superstars can take your nickname is rather lame.
