OJ Mayo and his issues
Given the latest issues that have arisen over the past couple of days in regards to OJ Mayo, it's almost certain it will have an impact of where he is drafted.
Will a team, pass up on him for such an act; it's not as if he was involved in drugs, violence or anything of that nature, even thought what he's been accused of doing is still outside of NCAA Rules?

Yeah that's what i heard too, "legally" Mayo and BDA will not face any penalty, but the ncaa may punish USC

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

sort of, I don't know all the details but Webber was paid by a booster closely associated with the school. From what it sounds like in OJ situation it was a promoter/ agent firm. USC might not be punished as harshly if the NCAA finds they didn't have anything to do with the payment but were aware of it.

I understand the reasons for why the rules are like they are, but when someone says, "we aren't going to pay you, but you better not accept FREE MONEY!!" then problems are going to happen.
Really, who isn't going to take free money and gifts?

I think I liked Dickey V's idea(haha), when a guy applies to have his draft status evaluated, if he gets a first round grad/guarantee, then he should be able to come out after high school, and if he doesn't, it's college or another alternative for 3 years.
I'm firmly against the age limit, but that might be the best way to go about it.

still not a valid reason to go against said rules.NetsForce wrote:Mayo wouldn't even have to follow these (Please Use More Appropriate Word) NCAA rules if Stern never raised the age limit... That being said I wouldn't be surprised if a few teams passed up on Mayo... And he fell to the Nets![]()
I can dream, can't I?
he's participating/partaking in something many would kill to enjoy, he NEEDS to abide by the rules, no matter how silly they may be.

but, that's opinionated more so than any factual sentiment that an be reasonably lobbied for/against.NO-KG-AI wrote:I think I liked Dickey V's idea(haha), when a guy applies to have his draft status evaluated, if he gets a first round grad/guarantee, then he should be able to come out after high school, and if he doesn't, it's college or another alternative for 3 years.

Happy Birthday!
Unfortunately, I didn't buy you a gift because the NCAA says you're not allowed to receive them.
