2008 Playoffs Lackluster?

Post#1 » by enigmatics » Fri May 16, 2008 3:26 am

For what was touted as one of the most amazing playoffs ever, I dunno if I really buy into that. Looks like there's going to be quite a few game 7's, but what's with all the blowouts?

Its been a lackluster playoffs, but expectations were too high. Too many people were hyping up the West as the best conference ever.

Yeah I'd have to agree. I think the refs have a lot to do with it as well.. The "home cookin" during these playoffs is getting really out of hand.. its turrible!

Hahaha ...... Ya, it's pretty clear these officials call games differently depending on which home floor the game is being played on.

the repetitive nature of the home team always winning certainly add to the lacking of luster.

The Hawks making the run they did saved the playoffs for me. Otherwise the playoffs have been extremely boring.

If only they could have pulled off the upset, that would've been amazing. Celtics = BORING!

I don't think I've watched an entire postseason game this season, and to be honest, I haven't really minded.

nonsense...not every playoffs are suppose to be a historic playoffs...it been the 2008 Playoffs, thats it. Best teams advanced. Those who deserved it in the second round, got there. Teams playing incredible basketball (at home). Unlike the praised 06 Playoffs where the West had no super elite team other than Dallas and San Antonio and a 60 win team seeded lower than a 44 win team.

I agree that this year has not been nearly as exciting as last year (though last years finals was boring).

Thankfully, there's still hope. With 3 potential game 7s, each potentially being exciting. The conference finals have a great chance of showcasing some exciting matchups, and the Finals will likely be even sided this year.

So far this years playoffs pale in comparison to the excitement we saw last season, but there's still hope for something amazing to happen.
