I have been picking the underdog to win most of the series this season, but I just can't imagine seeing a Pistons vs Cavs series again in the playoffs. Would anyone really even watch that series?

Not really, but I'd rather have that than have the Celtics win. Eff Boston.

I guess back in the day you didn't want to see another Pistons/Bulls series. Me, I've been looking forward to a possible round 3 all year.

I'm not gonna hate on the EC, but no, I really wouldn't even watch that.

Not to worry! I checked the TV guide and there are reruns of "Suddenly Susan" on during every scheduled game of the Cavs/Pistons series. You're saved!

It's definitely possible, I would not put it passed LBJ to steal a game 7 on the road.

I hate watching defensive games but anything that invovles Boston losing is fine with me!

Personally I've got no problem with whoever comes out of the East Semifinals. Interesting storylines abound.

1. Will Boston & Detroit recapture the old days and do battle for the Eastern Conference Crown?

2. Will King James conquer the Green Tyrant and invade the Motor City one more time?

3. Can The King (now alongside a former enemy in Ben Wallace) dispatch the Pistons again en route to the NBA Finals, where either Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan await (for a possible rematch)?

4. Will KG & Co. again prove to the world that there will be no upsets this year?

5. Will Chauncey Billups be effective (injury) in the Eastern Conference Finals and possibly beyond?

6. Will the Celtics EVER win a road playoff game?

An even better question: What if we got another Cavs/Spurs finals? That would be tough to watch.

If that were to happen, it should lay to rest any conspiracy theory that David Stern controls the outcome of games and series!

LeBron is the only thing even remotely exciting about the Eastern Conference to me.

There is no killer instinct with Boston. You know they are going to lose every road game and their declining stars are going to play soft down the stretch. I'd much rather watch LeBron vs Detroit.

why would anyone think Boston/Detroit would be more exciting than Cleveland/Detroit. If Boston wins tomorrow, you might as well give Detroit a pass to the finals - there's no way their aging stars can handle another 14 days of playing every other day. Tomorrow is already their 12 playoff game in 23 days, this one just 39 hours after their big 3 each played 40+ minutes.

Besides, wasn't game 5 last year of the Cleveland/Detroit the best/most exciting eastern conference playoff game of the past few years? Ben Wallace being on the Cavs this year only ads more drama to a Cleveland/Detroit matchup.

I guess this thread shows some people just don't like it when NBA teams actually commit to playing 48 minutes of tough defense.

Personally, I'm good with Pistons vs. any team in the ECF.

Just glad the guys got there again this year.

A series with either Boston or Cleveland will be a long, ugly, grueling affair that few outside of the fans of said teams will be able to enjoy.

anyone who says they wouldn't watch the finals isn't a real basketball fan, you are merely searching for cheap entertainment. go watch arena football there is plenty of scoring there. Defensive battles are for true fans of the game.

Based on the Cavs/Celtics series it will be tedious regardless.

No. No one would watch a Pistons/Cavs ECF. It will probably be shown on public access channels if it occurs.

The East finals will be a big slugfest. Not conducive to big audiences, but heck, will they be a tough series either way.

I'm hoping for Detroit-Boston though.

im not sure how closely id watch but this boston/cavs series has been one of the most disgusting things ive ever had to watch
