I was just wondering whats the percentage of McDonald All-americans to make it in the NBA and what is the percentage of those that make it to the NBA that become all-stars. When selected to the McDonalds team they are 25-30 of the best talented basketball players in their class and I would think they would all have a tremendous edge in skill over a majority of the players in their class. I know some guys havent full developed yet and some need college to develop, but being that talented in high school already should allow them to be even better in college, i knwo this isnt always true as some mcdonals hs americans stink in college or the rest of the class has caught up to their levels.

I know theirs plenty of examples of hs all-stars that cant make it in the nba and were just overly athletic in high school such as kwame brown, ndubi ebi, gerald green etc. Theyre all talented to some degree but havent put it all together.

I know if i was a mcdonalds all-american i would work my ass off in college knowing that out of thousands of high school players I was 1 of 30 to make the mcdonalds team which shows something about me. I would also feel that im above everyone else who wasnt on the team, not in a cocky way but more motivational way to make sure that im better than everyone who wasnt on the team to keep pushing myself.

Anyone have a number count on players projected to be in the first round that were on the McDonalds team?

Easier said than done. Young sports phenoms face all kinds of pressure and are constantly surrounded by leeches trying to milk their talent. If you faced this, you'd be a different person.

Comes off as kinda preachy and pretentious
