Biggest Need for Cavs?

If you had to pick one need for the Cavs to fill this offseason, what would it be? Remember you can only pick one and it does have to be realistic.

Personally the one I say is that they need to acquire another player that can create their own shot.

Picking one need is pretty vague. There isn't one team with only one flaw.

But I'd go with Chris Paul.

in all seriousness, a high scoring SG or PF. Delonte West does an ok job at PG, though they could use a more pure PG as well. But right now that team needs some scoring outside of Lebron. Their defense is very good, and if they could get a SG who can hold his own defensively while putting up good numbers on offense, it'd help them greatly.

I could see Corey Maggette ending up in Cleveland.

Then again, this is without looking at the Cavs salary cap situation, what players are ending their contracts, etc.

They should hire an assistant coach to run the offense, similar to the way Doc doesn't control the Boston defense.

They need a second option who is capable of putting up 18-20ppg.

This is my view. It's really at PF or SG that the Cavs are in need of an upgrade.

As I said in another thread a sign and trade for Elton Brand. If the Cavs are willing to take on Tim Thomas' contract and some other dead weight I think the Clippers would bite.

A legit #2 scorer in the backcourt. The guy should be able to create his own shot at will and wouldn't hurt if he can do that for others too. That would improve Cleveland's offense a lot instantly....even with Mike Brown still being the coach.

I think a guy like Joe Johnson would be ideal. Solid defender and shooter, and can distribute the ball back to Lebron.

Players the Cavs should target

1. Elton Brand- Is he available? any news on him opting out?

2. Jose Calderon- This is a loooonnggg shot because the Raps will match any offer that comes his way

3. Vince Carter- He's the best second option that could possibly be available..

4. Mike Miller - A shooter and underrated playmaker, if the Cavs don't like VC's contract, this guy should be 1st on their list..

5. Mike Redd- I honestly don't like this fit with the Cavs at all, he's not a playmaker, and his defense would make Bruce Bowen cry.. He's a good shooter though..

6. Zach Randolph - Yeah I said it, this gamble may just be crazy enough to work..

7. JO- The most realistic choice that would be able to help the Cavs right away.. Can he stay healthy is the real quetion?

Right now I think the Cavs should be targeting a big man that can score in the post ( Though a guy like JO doesn't play much in there).. JO might be the best available for what the Cavs have to offer..
