any coach out there should be wanting to coach the bulls... they have butloads of young talent and the number one pick... this is a team that was in the 2nd round just last season.... i dont know that avery is the right guy for the job.... i think that it should definately be someone with more than just and iso offense... i heard somewhere brian shaw possibility... triangle offense back in chicago is the answer...

I heard an unsubstantiated rumor yesterday on ESPN radio that the Bulls really like Brian Shaw for the job and have the mentality that he is a Byron Scott type of guy, and thats what they want, someone who knows the ins and outs and will be hard on the players...I was kind of caught off guard when that name got thrown out there...I would think that Chicago would want to move in a more proven direction with the current state...but what do I know...

IMO Avery would make a great coach for the Bulls, they are young and impressionable and they have a lot of quality pieces...

Apparently Phil Jackson has been talking up Brian Shaw (He called Sacramento last year, unsolicited, to recommend Shaw). Pax and Jackson are still friends, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have had some in depth conversations about Shaw.

i thought i heard that the bulls didnt really want avery, either way id think that avery is very very similar to scott skiles and normally you dont hire the same type of coach backtoback

plus assuming they draft rose avery would not be the type of coach id want. i want someone who will open up the offense and let my pg be creative and free flowing rather then be constrictive and be in a slowed down ISO offense

Basically my feelings on the matter, too...

Why the Chicago Bulls Should Hire Me:
-I've never failed as an NBA head coach
-I'd come up with a better offense than Mike Brown
-I'd be a new face on the coaching carousel
-It'd be a great publicity stunt
-How hard can it be?

Anyone who wouldn't hire Avery Johnson is an idiot. We're talking about a guy, who in a mere three years (and part of one season) as a coach, has already made it to the Finals. Plus, he's got a career .700 win percentage (including playoffs) in the Western Conference. He turned a Don Nelson team into one of the top-3 defenses in the league. And he can coach a team through a win streak (IIRC Mavs had two of 17+ games).

So they lost a few years to bad playoff matchups. Yeah, they happened to be in the first round. But the Bulls won't be seeing that kind of quality in round one. Once Avery gets another playoff series win under his belt, he'll be back rolling.

I think its ludicrous that he wasn't snatched up right away., If the Heat's choice wasn't Spoelstra, I'd have picked Avery...even with our need to run and gun.

The Bulls shouldn't hire Avery unless they want Rose to just run Iso plays and wait as the spotup shooter .

He's the wrong coach for the Bulls they shouldn't even consider him.

Well, if we hire Rose, I don't want Avery (doesn't develop youngsters) or shaw (triangle offense which bulls don't need with Rose).

If we draft Beasley then I have no problem with either Avery or Shaw.

If we draft Rose, I need a coach who like up tempo - fast paced game coz that fits our personal very well.

Imagine GP/Kemp combo like Rose/Tyrus in an uptempo game.

Like Cool007 said if the Bulls draft Rose then they should stay the hell away from Avery. If they draft Beasley I think Avery would actually be a good hire though, Avery DID help Dirk further develop his game and made it so that Dirk is no longer an Omega Chump on the defensive end.
