does this bother anyone as much as it bothers me?

the "whine after you shoot" play that leads to the other team having a five on four advantage down court because you are busy whining.
i understand that whining and getting on the refs is an actual strategy by why do so many players feel the need to use it at that point in time?

the only time it bothers me is when its my teammate doing it

Agreed. Any other time, I just find it funny since that player is hurting his team and gets burned for it as the opposing team gets an open shot / layup.

It bothers me when a player clearly commits a foul and they complain that they didn't do anything. Especially when they throw their hands in the air and say "Yo soy inocente!"

It doesn't bother me as much as the Ginobili, I mean, the flop, but it is unprofessional.
Truth is, I find it kind of amusing when players whine to the refs, or give that "who - Me?" look. I kind of enjoy those moments.
But it is stupid - just play the game.
that being said, I'd much rather remove flopping and kicks to the face from the game than whining. But I know what you mean.

It's okay to be a crybaby... But not in the middle of a play!
Play now, whine later. Controlling emotions, just another basic basketball skill inept players do not have these days.

steven jackson wont whine, he'll lay on the floor after a no-call and just look at the ref(of course while the ball is still in play)

I like Tim Duncan's "jump up and down with your arms up in the air like a sissy girl" routine he does every time he misses a shot.

I really dislike when DWade does it, like everyone else. He's got to keep his composure in those situations more. But he has gotten better.

It bothers me also. Most of my favorite players don't have this problem though.

go play pick up basketball at some gyms around the LA area. sometimes, you'll the foul call. the whining. and what seems like an hour worth of argument without actually playing.

Agreed....it annoys the shhh out of me. While you're complaining, you put the team at a defensive disadvantage while putting yourself at risk for a technical foul for excessive complaining. Its gotta stop.

I hate anytime a player argues with a ref. 99% the ref won't change his mind anyway, but 100% of the time you are hurting your team on defense.

it can actually help you in the long run though. I guess it is a strategy players use to their advantage most of the time... Just look at guys that complain the most and how much stuff they get or get away with. Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, and D.Wade constantly complain to the refs so they get the most leverage way in any game. lol Sheed Wallace complains too but no matter what refs hate him because he has a rep with them.

Someone that use to do this a lot was Jalen Rose. Don't know if he did this back in his Indiana and Chicago days, but when he was in Toronto, there would be quite a few times where Rose felt he was fouled and just keep talking to the referee while the rest of the team is rushing to get back on defense and is scrambling thanks to him just talking to the ref.

of course. basketball players only miss shots because they are fouled. and they never turn the ball over, nor commit fouls. god bless those perfect beings.
