What are some of the bs cliches that we always here from nba players that get you mad?

not from the players or anything but heres mine.

after a horrible first half, the commentators always say how one positive thing is that it cant get any worse than that.

I think that is a very misundertood and misused cliche.

what it is meant by it is that teams are suposed to win at home and the sense of urgency or panic does not hit the home team until after they lose at home and that is when things get really interesting.

it is not meant to be taken literally, but it is also not a law of the universe where whenever a home team loses the series automatically becomes more intersting.

an example would be the Lakers beating the Nuggets in game 3 in Denver didn't make the series more interesting, but if the Lakers lose game 2 to the Spurs you bet your a$$ the series would get way more interesting than if the Lakers win game 2.

ultimately when a road team is a position to have to win on the road the games are just more interesting than automatically expecting the home team to wiin.

I hate when people say basketball is all black people. It's wrong. I'm not black and I'm a huge NBA fan. Not to mention there are a lot of great white players. And football has just as many blacks.

But then I always head idiots at school say stupid racist jokes about blacks are inherently good at basketball and how it's an all black sport.

That's not a cliche...it's stereotypical that's all.

I hate whenever the goofballs at ESPN want to reference Jordan, they always say "and some guy name Michael Jordan? Ever heard of him? I don't think I have"

It's tired.

the "tweener" stuff....im not saying theres no tweeners..its just said too much.

X is a lost art these days.

I hate that too and Lebron was saying that all playoffs "Ive always said the series doesnt start till someone wins a road game"

I know what the saying means, but the wording just throws everyone off because its taken literally. Instead of saying the series doesnt start...the cliche should just be "the series doesnt get interesting..." than it would be understood more and not sound retarted.

"playing with a sense of urgency" is kind of annoying because its said over and over and over. Yes its true, but just annoying.

[Player] is underrated/overlooked for his [skill].

"We just need to stay agressive."

"We jest need to play our game"

"I'm the best point guard in the NBA"

Add anything Lebron James says. He memorized about fifty PR responses to say each time he is interviewed

Not really a cliche, but a strange trend...

Announcers using the level of standard, "great", to use as the basis comparision.

"He's not a great defender"

"He's not a great shooter"

"He's not a great rebounder"

"He's not a great passer"

"He's not a great scorer"

At times when I hear stuff like that, I'm like, "who really is a great (ability here)?", relating to the collectivity of what's being talked about.

Just because somebody isn't "great" at something doesn't make them insignificant or even average at it. It just depends what it is and who it is, that's being referenced to. Obviously the announcer having some familarity with what's being said.

There really aren't many, greats, as a whole, or in specific things. Great, is just too extreme and special of a level to use, it's wrong generally because of the underlying standards that are there.

I've heard it way too much now, and shouldn't even be applied usually.

"Good", "solid", terms like that, are much more fitting adjectives to use. Because when those are applied with "not", it's more clear to how somebody is in effectiveness.

last night reggie miller said "the only other guy who can do that is sitting at home watching this game in charlotte" **** you reggie miller, you are the worst announcer in sports

I hate it when a team comes back from a major point deficit to win a game and in the post-game interview the player gets asked a question in the form-

Reporter: "So Michael, how did you guys manage to come back after such a huge deficit and pull away with a victory?"

Player: "You know, we're very resilient, we know how to not let a deficit discourage us. I think it really says something about the characters that are on our roster."
