You need to be more specific. Are you talking about if they have an option for a 1 year extension.......or are you talking just simply extending their current contract.......or like simply their current contract is about to expire and you want to sign a new one?

If I'm not mistaken its July 1st. That when players with expiring contracts officially become free agents and can sign extensions. Although teams eliminated from the playoffs are allowed to make trades, July 1st is widely considered the first real day of the off season as teams usually wait until then to make any significant moves.

For Free Agents it is July 9th this year when the July Moratorium ends.Teams may negogiate from July 1st but can't sign any deal until the 9th.

Baron has an ETO so he has until June 30th to exercise it if he wishes to become a Free Agent.

Qualifying offers to RFA have to be made by June 30th.

Players who have contracts that make them elligible for extensions, 4-6 year deals that they have completed 3 years + of may be extended any time outside of the July Moratorium.
