Somewhere Vlade Divac, Manu Ginobili, Anderson Varejao, Raja Bell, Steve Nash, and Dwyane Wade are rolling over in their graves. Sasha Vujacic and Derek Fisher aren't because they're winning.

Divac retired from flopping awhile ago.

I'm glad they have decided on an after-the-fact fine rather than some sort of in-game punishment for flopping... the refs have enough to worry about and quite frankly make enough mistakes (most of them honest nonetheless) without having something else to worry about.

If I were the league I would make light of this kind've fine tho rather than have it being a more stern process like a fine for a flagrant foul, etc. I'd make the amount rather insignificant (say $500) and once a month present the $5000 or so worth of flopping fines to a great charity, starting off with the Magic Johnson Foundation.

Making light of it and doing it for a good cause will create less controversy. Our league has enough of that. also, players will be less likely to continue flopping when they're being laughed at for it than they will if they are fined huge amounts and get sympathy from the fans for that.

Sweet now well have a ton of threads arguing why this flop earned a fine while this other flop didn't get one.

If they implement the 16+ earns a suspension rule who will be the first to get suspended?

All NBA fines already to go to charity.

I hope the fines apply to offensive flopping too - it always bugs me when offensive floppers complain about defensive floppers.

I think this is pointless. The refs should be able to tell a flop from a real hit and act accordingly. I think some flops that people get all worked up about are just good plays with a little extra so the refs will take notice. I mean, if you are a guy like Shaq you don't get half the calls you deserve because guys are hanging all over you and you don't look like you got hit because don't sell it.

I could make so much money if I could bet on how long jazz fans could go without posting the Baron clip.

If I was a player and someone flopped against me they would get punished for that. A nice elbow to the face could keep them out for a few games and teach them to stop flopping. I cant stand flopping.

Actually flopping in the NBA is much much much much worse then in euroball, here they flop a lot less, and can get Ted up if they try to oversell it, which happens every so often. The ref will first warn the player to stop flopping like a fish, and if he doesn't he Ts him up.

The flopping in the NBA however is just LOL, i was watching the Suns Spurs series and was like WTF and they call euro players floppers?
