Toni Kukok opened the doors for the international players and all hell has broken lose. It caught on and now everyone flops.

Yeah the NBA would be so much better if it only opened it's doors to US born citizens

This thread is accurate. Domestic born NBA players would not flop if foreigners did not bring it here. They learn it from soccer where it is down on a regular basis (pretty funny too).

Yes we should thank them. They should try playing streetball. I bet they'd start crying.

I hate those Euros! Derek Fisher, Kurt Thomas, Dwyane Wade, and Raja Bell need to go right back to Europe where they came from.

Is Laimbeer a foreigner? If yes, then the flop was invented, developed and honed to perfection by that foreign Pistons guy with jersey number 40.

I'm not old enough to remember, but I heard Don Nelson say in an interview this year that flopping/dirty tricks goes back to Doug Collins and Jerry Sloan. I don't know if he meant when they were players or coaches.

This Euro and flopping thing is probably the biggest myth in the NBA. Exaggerating contact to sell a foul has been part of the NBA long before the any significant Euro movement. It just so happened that some European players like Vlade became really really good at it compared to the domestic players

I call BS on labeling Derek Fisher as a flopper. Fisher steps into a charge and takes it like a man. Unlike some players who are already falling backwards before the offensive player even touches them.

Fisher's one of the best in the game when it comes down to sell contact where it hasn't been or not much contact has been. He is a flopper and very good at it but also takes contact if neccessary.
