2008/2009 Rookie of the Year

I know the rookies have yet to play a minute of NBA ball, but I was wondering who the general consensus Rookie of the Year is. It's clearly speculated that Rose or Beasley will be drafted 1 and 2, but that does not necessarily mean their name is being engraved in the trophy just yet. There are always the diamonds in the rough that surprise everyone and elevate their game to the next level. And let's not forget about Greg Oden...

OJ Mayo will average 20 points per game on that Minny team.

There is no way of predicting this right now. We don't even know where any rookie will go, so we don't know how many minutes they'll be getting. Even if someone gets it right, it will just be luck.

Beasley will probably get it, because he will have Melo like numbers, but Oden will have the most impact easily IMO.

Mayo should be on the list. I voted for Mayo but who knows. It all matters what team they land on.

Beasley

B-Easy.

He has a more complete game than Oden. We all know Michael is going to Chicago, a team where he'll come in and immediately be a 20/10 guy. The fact that he'll put the Bulls back into the playoffs will be the icing on the cake.

It really is up in the air as it stands now... i would like Oden to win but chances are ROY goes to Beasley.

We'll see how it all unfolds...

I say Beasley..

i think Mayo and Bayless have a better chance of getting ROY than Rose..

We do? All signs scream Rose so far.

I'd go with Oden, since I still buy into the hype and think that Portland will actually be a pretty good team so that their success will help Oden's chances.

Still, I can see any of them winning.

Oden.

Last time I saw him play he destroyed Horford and Noah, and was the most hyped prospect since Lebron. Assuming he's healthy I think he's gonna be the runaway winner. Beasley, Rose, and Mayo are fresh in everyone's minds but I don't see them comparing to Oden. Oden is gonna be mentally prepared since he now knows everything that happens over the course of an NBA season, I expect big things from him.
