He could have had more.
Two future first rounders is a good deal - but you have to keep in mind how good the team is going to be after the trade.
For example, the Bobcats and Sonics two future first rounders will still be good because they are young and will need time to contend.
But the LAKERS? WIth Kobe, Odom and Fisher clearly looking for a ring?
You could've had, for example, Gasol and a filler for Bobby Jackson, Aaron Brooks, Luther Head, Carly Landry, Steve Novak and a couple of top-10 protected future first rounders. Some young players. Two better draft pick. Pretty much the same amount of capspace. and I acknowledge that that's a crap trade - but it's better than the Lakers deal.
Why not the Knicks? They had expiring deals. They have Eddy Curry. Eddy Curry and the #6 pick this year? Not better?
Jeez. At least trade him out of conference.

Grizz management's philosophy is ass backwards. They want the lottery to save them with a number one pick and give them a franchise player. That happened when SA got Duncan and that's it. Everybody else was trading, scouting free agents and building chemistry in a cohesive team. It's not like they haven't had good position in the draft either. They had their chance and drafting many superstars in the draft and didn't.
They were a pretty good team a few years ago too. It's a shame because now they might as well not exist.

The "Trade"
You don't need to be a conspiracy wacko to see the league office's fingerprints all over this one undercover.
The NBA needs a healthy, title-competitive glamor franchise in Los Angeles. It isn't happening with the draft and value-for-value trades.
Voila! Memphis, a nothing as far as franchises go (at least in the eyes of the powers that be in the league office) has a star that could put LA among the elites again, and he miraculously gets traded to the Lakers for a six pack of skunky beer and some stale pretzels.
I'm not stupid enough to believe the Memphis brass were stupid enough to do this on on their own.
Like I said, you don't need to be a conspiracy paranoiac to see this one was somehow engineered behind the scenes by the league.
With Boston it wasn't as obvious, but Minny didn't get real equivalent value for Garnett, either.
Wait and see--there'll be something similarly miraculous occur not too far down the line to salvage the Knicks. Mark my words, they'll get the benefit of the bouncing ball more than once in the near future, when there's a LeBron or an Oden or such available in the draft.

Expect similar if not better results out of him that you see in Chris Paul. Beasily is going to be another D. Howard except scoring like Durant does.
Derrick Rose hasn't played a game, yet. He might not be more than a roleplayer, for all we know. Besides, you're comparing him to the best PG in the league? WOW.
Michael Beasley is nothing like Dwight Howard. He plays BELOW THE RIM and isn't nearly as athletic. He doesn't score like Durant, who shot from everywhere on the court, but rather by scoring on unathletic 6'6" 'power forwards' in college. He measured 6'8.75" at Orlando Pre-Draft. He might struggle to score, especially with his style of play.

I'm actually going to agree with writerman here..is it possible that the Grizzlies management was THIS stupid?..

lakers considered bynum part of their untouchables even at that stage, it goes without saying that chris wallace was laughed at for even thinking it, probably worth mentioning that bynum was also due a big payday for the 09/10 season
memphis wouldnt consider odom because his contract went into 08/09
sasha, ronny were at the end of their rookie contracts and wouldnt have been re-signed anyway
mihm's and ariza's contracts had POs for next season
farmar was a PG, same as javaris (who looked like he had the better upside) and memphis were stacked at PG
they didnt want walton or radmanovic due to their lengthy contracts
throw in kwames 9.6mil exp, mckie (s&t for cap purposes)
yes it was lopsided but show me another deal that gave memphis giant expiring, 2 genuine prospects and 2 shi*tty 1sts
dont show me any minny trades /w ratliff, they werent looking to compete with gasol
dont show me any chicago trades, they wouldnt S&T pj brown to go into lux tax and can only blame themselves
intersting to note:
1.we all knew mchale had practically handed KG to the Cs, even by rejecting a bynum + odom + filler offer
2. right before memphis caved, kupchak threatened to use kwame's expiring on ben wallace and wallace couldnt let that giant expiring get away
