The daily herald and wgn news are both reporting that Vinny Del Negro has been hired by the bulls as their new head coach.
And thus, one of the strangest head coaching searches comes to an end. Vinny has zero head coaching experience, pretty odd! Thoughts?

Wow, I really thought they would go with Casey or Person. Well I used to go to Vinny D's basketball camps every year when I was younger. He's a nice guy, I know that much. But at the very least, I would assume that it'll take him some time for him to adjust to being a coach.
But really, considering that Paxson talked about experience being a factor, I guess Vinny must have really wowed him in the interview process.

The Bulls have been going nuts with this process.
I'll believe it when I see the press conference.

Wow that is truly a schocker. No offense to Vinny but the Bulls making decisions like this are strange.

They shoulda gone with Casey. I liked his defensive scheme.

I wanted Casey too. I always thought he was screwed in Minny. It's hard to complain about the hire though, because nobody knows anything about what kind of a coach VDN will be.

Looks like the Bulls are going for the youth movement, like they should.
Can't complain really... but can't get excited. He's a complete unknown. He could be a good coach, or worse then Boylan, but he must have wowed JR/Pax in the interview.

If they wanted to win now, they should have gone after Avery.

I can't say I understand this hire especially considering Vinny has no coaching experience.

The only reason they hired him is because the Bulls are the cheapest organization in the NBA.
I bet you Vinny is going to make 1.5 millions dollars or something close to that. Definitely the lowest paid coach in the league.
I would hate to be a bulls fan with Reinsdork in charge. Cheap bastard.

Looks like its actually true. So...I guess the Bulls are gonna rebuild around Rose. Good idea. Rest of the league should have their pickings of their top young players like Hinrich, Thomas and Gordon.

I don't think we're rebuilding really.
I'm pretty sure we'll pick Rose, but I have a good feeling that Thomas will stay, and if Gordon drops his salary demands, he'll be back.
Hinrich is probably gone however.
