Eric Pincus, basketball editor and credentialed Lakers reporter for Hoopswold.com, will call in from the arena, as soon as the dust settles in the locker room. On the Yahoo Celtics message board, yesterday, Eric reviewed the first two games and discusses the Lakers chances and adjustments going into their virtually must win game three.

The Lakers have not played well defensively but there are some seeds there

Is Phil pulling an Avery Johnson: changing his starting lineup in the playoff?

We saw how well that worked for Avery Johnson.

With Phil playing Trevor Ariza (after not playing for three months) has LaLaland and Phil reached desperation mode?

No. Phil is not pulling an Avery. He's tried a matchup it didn't work, so he has to make an adjustment.

Greg Popopopopvicious has done this numerous times in the past and he's never been criticized for it.

If Kobe guards Pierce it will be like that game a few years back where Pierce scored 39 or 40 and Kobe scored 40 or 41 on him and the Celtics won. Pierce is too big and strong for Kobe.

that doesn't really confirm anything about the lakers starting lineup

i wouldn't see it as a desperate move anyway, vlad can't defend pierce, so try someone else :dontknow:

True, very true.

The Lakers essentially have no answer for Pierce.

Benching RadMan is long overdue.

How in any way is this desperate he was awful in game 2, I was yelling for Phil to bench him then. His defense was atrocious, he was timid on offense. Even when he made some good plays like that fast break dunk he clearly traveled. Kobe will do a lot better job on Pierce than Vlad, you won't shut down Pierce completely just like you won't shut down Kobe, but Kobe will easily do a better job containing Pierce.

I will say this, for most of the playoffs i wondered how a team that starts Radman can win a tittle. Maybe thats beggining to catch up to them.

I do agree with you, yet I asked myself this same question when it came to Smush Parker too.
At times Phil does have his head up his A55.

Kobe would be in foul trouble when pierce starts selling his wobble heads.

how about vujacic on ray allen and kobe bryant on pierce? vladimir can come off the bench.

it looked like vujacic did a good job against ginobili in the western conference finals.

If Sasha is starting, that would be a good matchup against Ray.

Sasha does play good D , but his only problem is that he get's in foul trouble a lot.
Sort of like DUM DUM Vlad, but I would rather have Sasha on Allen that Vlad...........

Yeah me too. Vlad literally got abused by Pierce in games 1 and 2. Phil needs to change something quick for their time runs out.

I think we need to run Ariza.
Some might disagree but Ariza will do fine, but Phil has to allow him to play, and adapt.
I think thats our best bet.

Anyone that thinks Radmon, is a better option that Walton or Ariza has lost their minds.

Radmon is a joke, cant play D, very streaky shooter... just a complete bum.

Vlad isn't a starter to begin with.
