Wow, big newsflash there. Maybe if you did a little research you'd realize the "clown" never said he'd be asking for the max. On the contrary, he's said he'd take a cut to keep Jamison, as well as rippin Gordon and Deng (rightfully so) for trying to hold out for the max in his blog. We'll see if he's true to these statements, because as you implied he's a lil eccentric. But how you know what he's thinkin, especially when it's contrary to his statements, is beyond me. So the answer to "what's up with this clown thinking he's a max player?"... NOTHING, lol

Arenas is one of the best all around guards in the league. Still relatively young, and has the charisma (and the production) of a superstar. He's on the short list of players who deserve a max deal.

Arenas is just thinking about his options.

He does want the Max, most players want the best deal right for them. But at the same time, he said he would take less to win a championship Or be on a championship winning team. And he said he would take a paycut for Jamison to stay.

If Rashad gets 100 million, Gilbert gets 200 million.

Kobe, KG, and whoever else should be worth whatever the market is willing to bear. That is why I think the "caps" in the NBA should be removed; it's a system that mostly benefits the owners.

Arenas will get payed 15 mil. Guarantee it.

You take away cap and you can say goodbye to small market teams, the startegic importance of GMs, and hello to dynastys by billionares like Cuban who will just buy rings literally.

The Cap is by far the best thing that could happen to a sport in terms of fair competition.

Baseball and international Soccer teams should insitute a cap limit and then you won't just have 2 great teams per country.

And if the owners decide to pay there players $10.00 an hour (owners=market) then thats what they should be paid???


The cap is collectively bargained for by the NBAPA and the owners. They are mutual partners in the NBA. Remove the cap and take out the min. Right now every NBA team has a min they must spend on salary. Take off the salary cap and min and you could see players all getting paid WNBA money.

The market isnt wiling to bear any Max contracts. The 76ers and Grizz are th eonly teams able to spend more than the MLE. If Arenas walks he signs for about 10mil per. Why the Wiz would pay more than that is beyond me.
