Is it time for Stern to step down and if it is who do you guys like to see take his position.

Maybe someone out of the league with some sort of leadership skills to help cleanup messes like this and prevent future problems.

JVG is the real deal, nothing fake, he tells it like it is, and he's a man i trust.

If Jeff Van Gundy was so certain the NBA was fixed, yet continued to work within and for the league why would he be a good choice? Shouldn't it be someone on the outside? Someone who hasn't been in basketball for a while...

Of course least we forget there should probably be some evidence when you believe convicted felons.

BTW i remember on espn shootaround like 2 years ago, stern already has the person who will succeed him in line already and he's like studying under him for a long time now, i forgot his name but at the time it was stephen a smith who reported it

so lets not get our hopes up

and rightfully so.
JVG might be an honest guy, he's definitely smart at basketball. Could he negotiate a multi million dollar TV contract?? could he deal with the players union's legal contract demands? could he handle the legal issues around suspensions? Is he qualified to approve and green light marketing strategies? Almost everything that Stern does has nothing to do with basketbal at all.
The position isn't a coaching position, it clearly is a position for a lawyer/businessman.

QFT!! I don't think many people around here realize that a majority of Stern's job has nothing to even do with basketball.

I am more than sure it will be Adam Silver...

And yeah... it has to be a lawyer given the contracts they the commissioner needs to accept and reject.

oh yea, that's him, they were saying he was like the disciple of him and stern is showing him the ropes and grooming him to be similar like him.

You have to admit, NBA is a business first. That is how you get the best players on the planet to play in your league over say Europe.

If you want real basketball, the college game is probably where you should spend your time. As soon as money becomes involved, everything goes to ****, in all aspects of life, not just basketball.

That would probably explain why college basketball is generally more popular and respected in the US (at least in my perspective) despite horrible disparity in talent. And when did the NBA have the best (undoubtedly) players? They got embarassed twice in the FIBA competition.
