Has There Ever been a playoff series your team lost that you thought they would win?
If so when and what were the circumstances?

Houston Rockers
2006-2007 1st Round Dallas Mavericks
2004-2005 1st Round Utah Jazz
I probably didn't even need to put the 1st round. That's sad.
I hate thinking about the Rockets sometimes...

98 ECF VS Chicago game 7- up in the forth qr but poor offensive rebounding and Reggie's 0 in the forth killed us.
99 ECF VS NY-LJ's bogus call cost the Pacers a game. Still should of won that series.

1994 2nd round vs the Knicks. Phantom foul?
Also, 2005 1st round, up 2-0 vs the Wizards then drop the next 4. Ouch.
Another one, in 2006, before the 2nd round series stared vs Detroit, I thought we were going to win that one after sweeping Miami. After game 1 though, I thought otherwise.

Blame it on the refs? The refs can't make you lose 4 games in a row

Heat.
Basically every series with the Knicks 10 years ago. We only beat them once (or twice?), but were always the better seed. They had lucky bounces and cheap shots that had our players suspended. We benefited from suspensions once.

1. 2003 Western Conference Semifinals - I was just as stunned as the Lakers were to be going down at the hands of Tim Duncan.
2. The Stunner: 2004 NBA Finals - Easily the most frustrating time in my Basketball Life. Nothing went right and it seemed like as though nothing could go in for us. Those guys were perfect. That right there was what kicked off my seething hatred for the Detroit Pistons until this year when it finally cooled off and transformed into respect.

1.2006 semi finals..definitely thought we were better than the Mavs going into game 7..I thought we had the game won..I was wrong..thanks Manu..
2.2008 conference finals..going into the series and in the 1st half of game 1, I thought we'd definitely win this series and I thought we'd be the better team..I was wrong..thanks Manu..
3.2004 semi finals..after winning the year before, I thought we finally had the Lakers number..even after a few games..then 0.4 happened..

1981 vs Rockets.................. The old 3 game mini series days.
1982 vs Sixer...........................Moses Malone was not to be denied.
1986 vs Rockets....................Damn Ralph Sampson and that fluky shot.

2003 - Semis vs Spurs. End of the 4 consecutive titles dream.
2004 - Finals. I remember how everyone was touting the Lakers as the champs and the only discussion was how many games the Pistons will be lucky to win. Easily one of the most disappointing moments as a Lakers fan.
2006 - 1st round vs the Suns. I had absolutely no hope for us to win prior to the series since Phoenix was clearly a far superior team, but when we went up 3-1, I was almost certain we'd go through... and before Thomas got to shoot that 3 ball. Man, we were so close and yet so far away. Starting Smush, Walton and Kwame apparently can't get you further.
