ATLANTA -- Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson has been offered a two-year extension, a person close to the negotiations said Thursday.

The person familiar with the situation requested anonymity because the negotiations are ongoing.

Woodson's contract will expire at the end of June.

New Hawks general manager Rick Sund would not confirm the offer to Woodson on Thursday night.

Looks like the new management will keep him. I like this move, keep the continuity with a young team and move forward in the right direction.

I'm fully convinced the Pistons asking to interview Woodson was just to do him a favor to try and get him that Atlanta extension (Woodson is a friend of many Piston people)

Bad decision. So what if the Hawks have a bad record next season? Are they still going to keep him? lol
