Laker's team gives up on Kobe

When Celtics started making a come back against the Lakers, and chipping away, Kobe started getting angry and yelling at team mates.

First of it came towards Vujacic for not jumping out on his opponent that scored a 3. Later you saw Kobe yelling at Farmar, yelling at Lakers, refs, being a total jerk.

At the time Lakers were still within a few points. All of a sudden, the Lakers players, specifically the ones Kobe was yelling at, stopped playing D. You could see them stop hustling, stop running, stop trying..

While Doc gave several motivational speaches, and Cassell was yelling at Pierce "i've been here, go out and make those clutch ft's" and Paul was hugging Ray, and saying "you deserve this brother".

KOBE IS NOT MVP. Lebron, has way more charachter, if not talent.

I never thought I'd say this, but it looks like Doc Rivers out coached Phil down the stretch.

First off Farmar has no business being in the game with 4 to 3 minutes left. He is too young and playing too poorly in the POs to be there on the floor at such a crucial time.

Doc meanwhile got KG out early in the 4th for a rest and was able to get some useful minutes with Powe in there against Turiaf. Also his decision to go small and play KG, Posey, Pierce, Allen and House down the stretch worked to perfection.

That unit made it tough for LA to get any clear outside shots defensively. Offensively that unit had the Lakers D completely spread out resulting in tons of open looks for Posey and House.

It's surprising that the Celtics haven't used that small lineup more often. It's the lineup they used all season. It's the one that got them the best record in the NBA.

Please keep this in the gamethread. The TOS says that if nothing new is brought up regarding superstar players, then it should not be a new topic. Thanks.
