Stewart Scott is horrible

Post#1 » by richboy » Mon Jun 16, 2008 5:16 am

What is with him now. He keeps repeating information that we already know like we haven't heard it before. He starts his statements like he about to give us some unbelievable stat or quote then he says something that common knowledge. I use to love Stewart Scott but he getting worse as his career goes on. After game 4 he goes on with this long drawn out monologue to tell us that the Lakers had only beaten the Celtics once during the year. Today I'm thinking he is about to give us something new about Kobe then he repeats the same Kobe its the elite 8 quote that we have heard a million times.

Also. Please Mark Jackson please stop with the Eddie House is a knock down shooter stuff. I think we have heard that about 25 times during this series. Seriously I can't believe anyone is actually considering Mark Jackson to coach there team. He isn't bad but who in there right mind would consider Mark Jackson over JVG.

in case you haven't noticed, MOST analysts/announcers repeat the same **** every game, especially in a 7-game series, not just those clowns..nothing to talk about..NBA players opinions are overrated, regardless of whether they are active or whether they are announcing now..

Well I remember the days of Chris Meyers doing the games or Bob Costas. They did not just repeat the same thing said over and over again. Scott will start a sentence with check this stat out. Then say something like no team has come back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals. Something said about a million times during the off days. Game 1 he said good thing the Celtics won game 1. This goes on his monologue to say that Phil Jackson was undefeated in series that he won the first game. Chris Meyers and Bob Costas would actually talk about what each game meant for the legacy of players. Talk about there conversations with players. Scott has been saying the same 'already knew that comments' since the WCF.

First of all, Stuart Scott has never brought anything new to the table.....frankly I don't really mind that because I never really expected that.

Second, what really annoys me with SS is that he tries to come up with some clever rhetoric and sometimes he tries too hard. It's not funny or clever.

The difference between Marc Jackson and JVG is like night and day. They really need Hubie Brown.....he's f'n awesome. Also really like Doug Colling as well as JVG. All three are insightful, though JVG is probably the best because he not scared to criticize the refs/players/rules.

I don't mind Scott's banal remarks. Bob Costas would tell us garbage stats like "the Lakers are 17-2 on Tuesdays when Kobe Bryant forgets to brush his teeth." We don't need random useless facts. Overall, its the format of their halftime show that is weak. They only go around and let each guy speak for 30 seconds, then immediately go to commercial. Thats just lame. There is no dialog between them and it is too short.

I don't mind Stuart Scott, he's not that bad at all, in fact he does a solid job.

Mike Wilbon, and Jon Barry? Can't stand them both. Wilbon makes a prediction that the Celtics will win game 5 in the pregame coverage.. by half time, Lakers are leading 55-52, and Wilbon proceeds to say "I told you so!" You told us what you fool? The games not even half over and the Lakers are leading.. oh and they ended up winning the game.. sorry you told us what again..?

Breen is just, Breen.. Boring. But Marc Jackson and JVG work well together and take over the telecast from Breen which is a good thing.

Overall, the ABC coverage and analysis is not as BAD as it used to be over the past couple of seasons, mainly due to the refreshing introduction of JVG and Jackson. While it's definitely no TNT, it could be way worse than what it is now..

Yeah I've never had so many things pointed out to me before that were either obvious/or inconsequential. Mark Jackson as a head coaching candidate makes no sense.

This is the first time ever that I have resorted to muting games during the playoffs just because I couldn't stand the announcers...

I'm surprised Force..Mark Jackson sounds like he secretly works for LA, I thought you'd like him..AND he's the Nets announcer..I actually sympathize for him, because he can't masturbate while Kobe is playing..it seems like he just wants to let it out all game..

the NBA needs to have..Marv/JVG/Walton and Harlan/Collins/____..

Marv and doug worked so well together in the playoffs i wouldnt touch that duo, but harlan needs to go to abc to work with jvg and espn needs to get hubie a solid play by play guy. Then all 3 networks will atleast have one good announcing crew.

This seems to be the most obvious solution. Also last time I checked you have to tune to Stuart Scott/ESPN to be annoyed by them. Hey Richboy just don't listen to them, stop torturing yourself.

never liked stuart scott, he tried too hard to be funny and to pass himself off as that urban guy with his excessive usage of slang and ebonic.

mark jackson, didn't think he was too bad till this final. the point that did it for me was his exchange with van gundy on kobe bryant all defensive first team award.
