Shutup About Finals Being Rigged

To all those skeptics who assume that the Finals is fixed, it's not. The NBA is under such scrutiny right now that even if they had somehow planned on rigging it, this would be the worst time ever to do so. It would be the equivalent of sitting around a poker table, someone calling you out as a cheater and then going ahead and trying to cheat.
Every single call that is made on the court in this series is being watched carefully by fans and NBA personell alike. If anything, they are trying to reff these games at a much higher level than they have in the past. It's hilarious that people think that because Donaghy came forward and spoke about other games being rigged that suddenly the Finals must be fixed.
The game has been tarnished enough with this Donaghy bs. We need to stop trying to be Detective I-told-you-so and just sit back and enjoy the games.

The whole "it couldn't just be the refs missing a call, there must be a fix!" shtick is getting annoying fast.

Aww...here is that 1 in 10 guy that doesn't think the NBA is rigged. Its ok bro...fight for it.

David Stern wants you to think he wouldn't force this series into 7 games. Sterns > you

I think 2 things to look for for. Delaney will do game 6. Lakers will force a game 7 on some iffy calls. Too much money involved to not have a game 7 with a gigantic Laker come back to push it even further.

If you really believe that then why don't you cite specific examples next gamewhere you think the rigging is occurring. What if the Celts win? I imagine that you'll attribute that to him trying to play it safe and not be obvious with his schemes.

God I hope not. He didn't help us out much in game 2 now did he? Delaney actually has a hard on for screwing the Lakers these days - he must've been a Shaq man in the past if he ever gave us a break back then but I've noticed it's an almost guarnatee that the other team will have far more FTA's and less foul trouble when he's out there.

actually, phil has called out delaney many many times over blown shaq calls in the past...

there was a very egregious one at utah in the playoffs if memory serves, where shaq was just brutalized, and there is delaney watching it , no call...

I think Steve Javie might actually give the Lakers more questionable calls than any of the other ref's that I know.

It is a sad testament of how many ref's names I actually know though. There's no reason fans should them so well.

Straight up, I had been thinking it was rigged.

But then I read where you were telling me to shut up for thinking that, and I was...well, I won't say I did a complete 180, but at least a complete 90. Then I read where you backed up the 'shut up' with your opinion, and I'm sold. You made a (non?) believer outta me, friend.

A lot of people don't think the Finals are fixed. They think it was fixed to be a Celtics/Lakers final.

Yea thats true. But do you think they'll get another shot at Celts/Lakers? I personally think they milk it for what its worth and make sure it goes 7. I mean I don't think they care who wins game 7 I just think they care it goes to 7. And in actuality the Lakers just have to win 1 more game to ensure it.

So if the skeptics believe that it was rigged so that LA and BOS would meet in the finals, how do they explain their regular season records? I guess all the refs in the league had a hidden agenda from the start of the season. LA and BOS were the BEST teams in the league this year and their regular season records prove that. All this BS about Celts Lakers final being pre-planned is a mockery. Sure it worked out well for Stern but that's not to say he fixed it.
This is as ridiculous as hypothesizing thatTiger Woods winning all those majors was rigged as well. After all, the people want to see Tiger win it so it must be rigged, it can't have anything to do with him being the best golfer.

*IF* it was rigged, and that Stern and co wanted Lakers vs. Celtics, why do you assume it was their goal at the start of the regular season? Maybe at the All-Star Break, when both teams were 1st in their conference (I think Lakers were first.. maybe 2nd to Hornets), that is when the idea started to surface. Since they were already conveniently in first place, it wouldn't be much of a stretch of both ended up facing each other in the finals.

Of course I'm not saying this happened, I'm just saying that you're making too many *assumptions* (granted, just like everyone else is)

Yeah, that's why Joey Crawford and Dick "the FBI's on my 80 year old @$$" Bavetta refereed FINALS GAMES, because the NBA will be playing it safe under all the scrutiny. Uh huh.

I suppose you think Game 2 and Game 3 were just well officiated games too.

People don't seem to know the difference between poor reffing/favoring and flat out rigging.

It's kind of funny how people are attacking Laker fans for saying this years finals isn't rigged. I mean when you consider that we're losing......
