I was reminded yesterday that Jackson is actually planning to write another book with his second tenure with the Lakers.

Personally as a basketball player I wouldn't like it. When Jackson wrote his book several years ago about the 03-04 Lakers I felt he came off self righteous and a little condescending. Also, not only were the players unaware he was writing a book, but he airs out the teams dirty laundry and is profiting financially out of it.

I lost some respect for Jackson after that.

Anyways if you were a Laker, how would you feel about Jackson writing a book about the team. Fine with it or not?

I thought when he returned for the second go round, wasn't there a provision in his contract to prevent him from writing books about the team?

I like how he gave his honest opinions about Kobe..it's good to hear the truth from a guy that has credibility when he's writing about those incidents..

It's not surprising. In this day and age I've learned anything goes in the business world and anythin goes to make a dollar. Phil Jackson has insight that no one else can give about the lakers team that interests many people; he has insight to the best basketball player in the world right now and people want to know what goes on behind the scenes. PJ is a very credibile person and is respected by many and his opinions are valued by many. This is the guy that coached MJ and PIP to 6 NBA championships and Shaq and Kobe to three rings. This book would be like having a conversation with phil jackson and asking him about kobe and he probably answeres everyones questions about what goes on and about personalities and all that. However, If I was a player I dont think i would mind...i really wouldnt. the only player who would mind is probably kobe bryany since he will be a main focus of the book and his personality and all that. But guys like Sasha, farmar, odom don't have too much to worry about i wouldnt think, but i dont know what goes on behind the scenes.

I don't even know if unethical is the right term for it. Many people right books about their careers or teams and they right about what goes on in the locker rooms.

I'm all for it. I enjoyed his last book, even if PJ is a monumental douche.

I personally can't find any fault for his brutal honesty. It was an real, authentic journal of that particular season and a very revealing and enjoyable read. If he betrayed anyone's trust its to his credit that he mended those relationships.

If anything its a good idea for the fact that theres continuity and should at the very least shed some light on Kobe's maturation/leadership.
