Jorge Garbajosa has been waived by the Toronto Raptors today. His agent confirmed the report.

Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo, Jose Luis Saez (president of the Spanish Basketball Federation), Ignacio Garralda (Mutua MadrileƱa's president) and Garbajosa signed the papers at the Spanish insurance company offices in Paseo de la Castellana, Madrid. "We [Toronto, the Spanish Basketball Federation, Mutua MadrileƱa and Garbajosa] have signed the buyout agreement. This [buyout] was the best option for all parties."

Garbajosa: "During the next 48 hours the rest of the NBA teams can offer me a contract. After that, I will think about my future."

I was under the impression he wouldnt play in the NBA again, but it seems he will go to any team that allows him to play for his national team if i understand correctly.

If so, what teams will go after him?

I personally loved his game and what he brought, he can stroke the 3 and is a gritty defender and just solid.

He was pretty good a few seasons ago before his injury, but has become irrelevant since.

i think any team willing to sign him will be very hesitant....

I think he'll end up back in the Euro Leagues, based on the way he handled the situation here. He had no respect for the wishes of the franchise he had contracted himself to play with.

Bryan Colangelo is a very fair GM to his players, and if Garbajosa was being this difficult, and BC found it difficult to manage, then i doubt there are many other GM's that will tolerate the same level of stubbornness displayed.

Garbo should've had the foresight to understand that, if he had skipped the World Championships, he probably would've been able to play in the Olympics, since he likely would've been healed. Now, with Toronto suing the Spanish League for insurance payment, and Garbo only willing to sign if the team allows him to play for his National team, i'll find it hard to believe anyone would give him a chance.
