During the course of a player's 20 year NBA career, when is the best time to win a Championship? Provided that he can only win 1 Championship.
A) Years 1 to 5 - Ages 19 to 24
-Wins a championship at a very young age.
B) Years 6 to 10 - Ages 25 to 29
-Wins a championship during his prime years.
C) Years 11 to 15 - Ages 30 to 34
-Wins a championship during his post-prime years.
D) Years 16 to 20 - Ages 35 to 39
-Wins a championship as a veteran with limited minutes and off the bench.
I think the best time to win an NBA championship is between ages 25 to 34 because you are not too young or too old.

Whenever the opportunity presents it self.
There's no set age, IMO. When you've been given a shot, go ahead and do everything in your power to make sure you don't let it go to waste, because you may never get this chance again.

I Second what Flash said. But i think the player Aprecitates it alittle more if its in the later stages. Dan Marino has said many times that he didn't know how hard it was to get to the super bowl untill later in his career. He said that after he went to the superbowl and lost that he thought he would go back. Kevin Garrnet could barely talk after winning it, he Knew his window was closing and he also knew how hard it was to get there. Overall there is no right time to win it but if i had to say, Just like anything, The harder you work for it the more you appreitatie it.

I'd say during your prime. When you're at the top of your game and you know you're the main guy...I don't think there's anything better than that. Winning a championship early isn't as rewarding if you ask me. Look at Kobe. I think he got a taste of success too early and it came easily with Shaq. I'm sure he didn't appreciate it as much as say, KG does now. I think winning a title in his prime as the main man this season would've meant 50 times more to Kobe than those in his early 20's as the sidekick.
The worst time would probably be when you're a old vet with limited minutes. It's nice that a guy like Gary Payton won a title but you know it would've been sweeter if he had done it with Seattle.
But then again, having 1 is better than none.

Like you guys say i don't even remember Payton got a ring, and he was important for the Heat team, i relate Payton with the Sonics, and unfortunately he didn't win a ring there. So option D is the worst one.
I say the best time is 27-31.
