Best Teams This Decade (2000's), In order what should they be ranked?
2000 LA Lakers (67-15), (15-8 Playoffs)
2001 LA Lakers (56-26), (15-1 Playoffs)
2002 LA Lakers (58-24), (15-4 Playoffs)
2003 San Antonio Spurs (60-22), (16-8 Playoffs)
2004 Detroit Pistons (54-28), (16-7 Playoffs)
2005 San Antonio Spurs (59-23), (16-7 Playoffs)
2006 Miami Heat (52-30), (16-7 Playoffs)
2007 San Antonio Spurs (58-24), 16-4 Playoffs)
2008 Boston Celtics (66-16), (16-10 Playoffs)
Considering everything, how the teams played in the season and playoffs, which team was the best this decade thus far and how would you rank these 9 champions in the 2000's?

For a team with 3 HOFS, the Celtics play on the road compared to at home is too wide..it hurts them in the rankings ..

You think the 2002 Lakers were better than the 2000 Lakers?
The 2002 Lakers were down in the series. The 2000 Lakers never got down in the series just in game 7 but they still won.

I think the 2000 Lakers were the worst of the 3 championships.... Glen Rice was not a great fit.. Kobe wasnt superstar Kobe yet... they went 5 games (which was max for the 1st round back then) with a young 8 seed Kings.. they almost gave up a 3-1 lead to Portland... They were a great regular season team though
2002 were down in a series, but they were down to the best team that did not win a championship in our generation

2001 Lakers - I discount their regular season because they were notorious for coasting.

2008 Celtics
2002 Lakers
2007 Spurs
2005 Spurs
2004 Pistons
2003 Spurs
2006 Heat

Well the Celtics had the 3rd best defensive efficiency in history (two of Jordan's teams were better), and three hall of famers, so the only team that really has a case for being better than them is the Lakers.

I would take any of the Spurs championship teams on D compared the the C's...
Honestly if you want to believe that your team was better than every team except the Lakers... so be it just expect people to not take you seriously when you have to go 7 games vs a team that had a sub 500 record.

2001 Lakers, bar none. 16-1 in the playoffs, including 12-0 as they absolutely demolished the rest of the Western Conference.

1. 01 Lakers (and other Lakers mult championships)'
2. 05 Spurs ( and other Spurs mult. championships)
3. Celtics 08
4. Pistons 04
5. Heat 06
The Spurs have been the best/consistant team the past decade, but the Lakers are close because they are near the very top again. The Lakers had the best peak team the past decade (2001). The other 3 champs are pretty easy to order for me.
