Why do you still watch the NBA?

It's pretty obvious that people are upset about the whole officiating thing, and although viewership has declined throughout the past couple of years, it has very little to do with the officiating. There's tons of people that do more complaining than contribute or just accept that the refs make bad decisions. Why not watch College Basketball? It's much better officiated.

because i love this game!
and plus in college bball, the players are not that good, so I'd rather watch the best player competing in a league that is allegedly sometimes rigged, rather than not the best players playing...btw im sure college bball has some points shaving.
plus if it is proven to be rigged, how fun would it be to watch the team 'supposed to lose' trying to overcome the rigging?
that...is drama...

Ya, it's kinda like when a girl cheats on you but you still like her for some reason after.

A couple of reasons.
1. Because I bleed wine & gold.
2. Because Australia's intepretation of basketball involves passing the ball around the perimeter and throwing up a 3 or long range 2 when you can.
3. Because it is damn awesome watching the best players on the planet do what they do best.
All 3 are answers. The 3rd being the core reason for my interest in the NBA.

I pretty much have stopped watching. I only watched the last half of game 6 for the whole NBA finals and some youtube clips. I'll probably disappear a week or 2 after the draft.

I watch and enjoy college more than I do the NBA.
I dont hardly watch NBA games of the week on TNT or ESPN, just the Wolves.
Somethin about college, that atmosphere, fans, kids not gettin paid(yea yea), teamwork. I just like it more than the NBA.

Not really. Watch a Duke game, and you'll think otherwise.

Viewership of the finals might have dropped somewhat in the big picture, but I'm under the impression that viewership for the season overall was up a decent amount.

College baasketball has a significant history of questionable officiating and gambling. Not saying I don't watch NCAA, just that people in glass houses etc. Besides my school's basketball program (Michigan) has sucked since it got hammered by numerous controversy and incompetence, and I can't bring myself to root for another school.
Why do I watch the NBA?
1: I love basketball, and the NBA imo is the best basketball on the planet.
2: Even though the Pistons have come up short the last few years, they've been competitive as hell over the past 6-7 years. How could I stop watching now after putting up with the teal era?
3: I don't believe most conspiracy theories, so my major problem is the refs blow. But I've had the same complaint since Lindsey Hunter and Alan Houston were the Pistons future so I'm over it.
Edit: While not as highly rated as say the Jordan years ratings were definitely up for the finals, also they were the 6 highest rated shows for the month June pretty easily. So it's not all doom and gloom.

Why not? refs suck but only in a couple series (or maybe ust the kings) you can say there was something up. You take yourself too seriously if you dont watch because of a "supposed" rigging. It's like just because of the kings/lakers it means every playoff matchup has been rigged

Because Basketball is the most fun sport to watch IMO, I just love watching how plays develop, how players react to every situation, and most of all watching the better teams how they pass the ball and defend. College basketball isnt any fun for me to watch because theyre like robots out there and all they do is pass it around the perimeter for 30 sedconds until someone HAS to shoot. Theres no reaction and no pressure on the defence. The Celtics were the most fun team for me to watch this year because of how they rotated on defence and how they got there before the ball even arrived to not allow any open shots for basically the entire season. I havent seen defence like that since I started watching in like 98 or 99. Oh yeah, and the players in the NBA are so good I cant bring myself to watching college where most of the players are 8 pegs below. Why is NCAA basketball so much more popular than baseball when America loves baseball and its the same universitys team sports?

I love this game.
Aside from my love for baseball, basketball is my second favorite sport. The action is intense, and it is worth watching. I dont care if it is rigged or not, I will continue to watch the game I love.
Basektball was my dream when I was little, that was until I met baseball in 2000. But I keep both sports close.

I've become pretty fixated on the negatives when I watch NBA games. I've stopped enjoying the game, and I think that's as good a time as any to take a break for a while. I'm still interested in how the draft turns out and I still enjoy basketball as a whole so I'll definitely pay attention until then. Anything past that is up in the air.

Well many of us do watch college ball. I know I do. Why not watch both? I mean, college ball pretty much ends in march any way.
