I'm just curious, what position did LeBron play his rookie year.
I could have sworn it was PG.

wtf? He's always been a SF, although he often brings the ball up, and did so more often back then because of little to no backcourt talent for the Cavs.

LeBron was never a point guard. He has played primarily the 3 his entire career.

What LeBron were you watching? How can he play the 3 his rookie year, when they had Ricky Davis.

1. Ricky Davis didn't stay the whole season.
2. Ricky Davis played SG.

Here's the answer to your question.
http://www.82games.com/03CLE5C.HTMLeBron played the majority of his playing time as the Cavaliers' SG. He did start his career as a PG. When Ricky was traded, they moved him to SG.

He played the first quarter of his rookie year as a PG when they had Davis and Miles, they traded for McInnis later in the season and he moved over to SG.

The Lebron PG thing didn't work that well. He had some turnover problems and it was wasting his energy trying to bring the ball up against pressure time after time. Also his defense was horrid his rookie year, at least on the ball.
On a team with better scorers around him, he could probably be a primary distributor though.

The trio of LeBron-Davis-Miles formed the 1-3 spots in the starting lineup for a good portion of the season. He did play a chunk of his minutes at PG, (I believe Wagner did also) until Miles was traded for McInnis. That's when the Cavs took off as a team and when LeBron started to dominate more as a scorer.

LeBron most certainly WAS a PG for part of his rookie season. His first game he started with Z, Ricky D, Darius Miles and Boozer. At different points during his rookie year, Silas called LeBron the PG and Darius the PG but originally LeBron was the PG. Here's his first game:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 90SAC.htmlI believe he was listed at PG that game but regardless if he was listed there or not he ran the point along with D Miles at different points until they eventually started Ollie to take LeBron off the ball and eventually traded for McInnis. Here's another game log where he started with Newble and Davis and was DEFINITELY running the point:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 30LAC.htmlSilas said at the time that he didn't see LeBron's long-term position as PG but he knew he played the position better than anyone else on the roster.

LeBron was definitely a PG at some point in his rookie season. I remember Silas using him as a PG and I thought he was the next Magic Johnson.

Yep, LBJ I believe was the PG until Ricky was moved, then went to SG.

Yeah LBJ was a PG on NBA Live 2004. Only 69 overall, too. Melo was just 63, IIRC.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I thought LeBron was much higher than that.

Sometimes when you're looking at Cavs offense, it looks like Lebron is their PG, SG, SF, PF and C at the same time.

He was a PG on NBA 2k and a PG in real life.

Yeah Lebron played PG for some time. I remember Baron Davis just owning Lebron one game, where he couldn't even get the ball to the three point line with Davis smothering him. That was so ugly that I knew right there Lebron wasn't going to work out as a PG.
