Will Ford ever shut up about wingspan?

I swear, this guy talks about wingspan on virtually every pick that has been made in every draft that I have seen him do commentary on. I know that wingspan is important and all, but he sounds like a broken record. It's just wingspan, wingspan, wingspan.

On Alexis Ajinca:
"He looks like he's playing uhh..... He looks like he's playing Nerf Basketball his arms are so freakishly long."

What?

Ford thinks it's a Red Rover draft with all this wingspan crap.

What happened is that he heard a GM say that teams don't care about height anymore and only look at standing reach and wingspan so now he uses that whenever he can to look insider.

Do you mean Jay Bilas? the guy on the TV?

The NBA has realized that height is not important. Standing reach and wingspan is what matters. Who cares if a guy is a 7 footer if his standing reach is only 8'8"?

We have a winner....

Wingspan is what makes these people marketable... length is underrated in the public area, not in the actual NBA though... When you have guys like Donte Greene w/T-rex arms who have less wingspan than say, a Brandon Rush (despite a 3" height difference) - that can really effect his jumper and ability to get it off cleanly.

Wingspan is one of the first things I look for in a draft prospect.

Bilas was the only one who knew what he was doing there. The other stooges were atrocius.
