Better future: Miami or Chicago?

Post#1 » by CB4MiamiHeat » Sun Jun 29, 2008 1:01 am

I think this could be a good rivalry in the future..Wade vs. Rose....Wade going back to Chicago...Beasley trying to show Chicago they shouldve drafted him..maybe a Christmas game this season, etc???

Who do you think is better now, and who has a better future?

Marcus Banks / Mario Chalmers
Dwyane Wade / Dequean Cook
Shawn Marion / Dorrel Wright
Michael Beasley / Udonis Haslem
Mark Blount / Alonzo Mourning

Derrick Rose/ Kirk Hinrich/ Chris Duhon
Ben Gordon/ Larry Hughes / Sefolosha
Luol Deng/ Andres Nocioni
Drew Gooden/Tyrus Thomas
Joakim Noah/ Aaron Gray

I think the Bulls have much better depth and trade assets, they should really go hard after Carmelo Anthony or Elton Brand...but the Heat have better star power and core.

What do you think.

It's tough to say. Even though the Bulls were a mess last season, they still have a pretty decent core. And Rose will only make them better.

But Miami's core of Wade-Beasley-Marion is pretty formidable. But I'm going to have to see them mesh before I praise them too much. The Heat looked awful last season.

Too much left to consider. It could swing either way. As a Bulls fan, though, I wouldn't trade our roster for the Heat Roster, and I know Heat fans wouldn't trade their roster for our roster.

A lot swings on how good Tyrus and Noah can become. If they make big leaps this year I'd say Chicago. If they don't, Miami.

Marion shouldn't count as a plus for the Heat in this discussion. He's 30.

Unless the Bulls get a star, Miami will have the better future plain and simple.

Star power league, Chicago has one possible star, and Miami has a star, and possibly another.

These teams were too good to have the top 2 picks though...

Heat have Wade, and potential star Beasley. Bulls have potential star Rose. Right now, I'd say Heat (that's being unbiased) because you can build around the two quickly if you can find the right pieces. I think with Rose and Chicago, it may take a while.

Miami's 2 Best Players are probably better than Chicago's 2 Best Players, and that would be said w/o going off on a limb.

Wade/Beasley > Rose/Deng.

But, it's way to early to tell at the moment about where the teams as a whole end up going. Neither team has yet to round out their roster by a long shot; trades, FA signings etc.

Either way, both teams are on the up from where they were last year.

Chicago has a better future simply on that they have a team that is in their early 20's, and Hughes/Gooden will expire soon. All they need to do is take their talent, exchange it for a superstar, and let it ride out.

I still need to see Rose on the NBA court, there is soo much speculation that he is going to be the next who ever, but we need to see first, then judge. But I'm going to say that Miami may have the better future if they build around Beasly, the guy is very competitive, and has very high potential. IMO higher then Rose.

I like Miami's starters over Chicago's, but their bench is still full of D-League-talent.
I'd still go with the Heat since I don't have a lot of faith in Noah and Tyrus.

And the Heat still managed to get the worst record in the league with Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion last year . Atleast the Bulls were in the playoff hunt until the final month of the season

They've been trying to do that for quite a while, yet Paxson has yet to have the balls to pull the trigger, and I really question if he ever will have the ball sto pull of such a deal....

Miami needs to build around BOTH, Wade & Beasley.

They need to surround both of these players with the kind of players that will allow them to flourish while they are doing their thing.

That was then, this is now. New season, new faces, new expectations. All depends on the health of Wade and Beasley's impact as a rookie.

Chicago.

Miami still doesn't have a bench, Wade's health.

Also, just because you have money and are in a sunny place, doesn't ENTITLE you to a top flight FA next year...sorry
