crazy 9 teams sign and trade interested. i think warriors are worried he takes 1 yr offer and is unrestricted next yr. though i dont see kniks/heat having much to offer in trade
Chris Mullin intends to re-sign Monta Ellis but the Cavs and Heat are pursuing potential sign-and-trades to acquire Ellis.
Alan Hahn of Newsday also cites a person close to Ellis saying that the budding star "would be very interested in the Knicks" and especially playing for Mike D'Antoni.
The Knicks are monitoring the situation but won't make a formal move unless Mullin signals that he's ready to talk about parting with Ellis. Donnie Walsh and Mullin have a close personal relationship.

I'd do Ellis for Beasley and 2009 top 5 protected first round draft pick.

I think he stays with the Warriors, although I wouldnt mind him going to Cleveland.

Warriors are going to match anything offered to him. There isn't a team out there that could sign him outright, and there is no way they will accept a S & T for him unless they are getting young allstar in return (which isn't going to happen).

Why do the Cavs always come up in these rumors as if they actually have something other teams want? (outside of LeBron of course)

Lol I think it would be the other way around. Ellis and an unprotected 09 first for Beasley.
Ellis hasn't impressed me when he doesn't have Baron next to him.

Why would the Warriors let him go even thru sign and trade? They can match any offer and now that Davis is gone they have more than enough money to sign him. I don't see him playing for any other team next season.

I don't think Ellis will go anywhere unless Cleveland or Miami are willing to give up LeBron/Wade for him, which will never happen.

He will get overpaid. He is good, but he will get overpaid.

Dude is a product of the environment he plays in. Don’t get me wrong I love his game, but he needs to stay with the Warriors.

+1.
I doubt he will be nearly as effective on a slower paced team. That Warriors offense tends to skew players stats a bit.

True, but he does shoot a great percentage, so he'll still probably be a very valuable scorer on some team, especially as his jumper develops.

Who cares what type of system Monta Ellis plays in, he's still a BEAST. He's just quiet as f*ck, and the vocal leaders of the team like Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson overshadowed how good he really is.
26 PPG on OVER 60% shooting for the ENTIRE month of February. Marv Albert even said that he's on the same level as Rip Hamilton when it comes to mid range shooting. Monta Ellis averaged 20ppg last season on over 50% shooting, and the thing that's amazing is that the team he played for had TWO OTHER 20ppg guards/swingmen as well. He was able to become a 20ppg player even though there were many other scorers on the team. He does all that scoring and doesn't even shoot three pointers; good shot selection, decides not to shoot three pointers even though he's on a team with a giant green light to do so.
Even scored 36 points in a game without even attempting a single 3pointer or free throw.
(respond with, "Damn Amare, you say that same thing in every single thread about the Warriors. Shut up already")
Oh wait, nevermind. Everything that I just said doesn't matter, you know why? BECAUSE HE PLAYS FOR THE WARRIORS. Basically, if you play for Golden State, you don't matter. Plus, Monta Ellis will never be a top player in the league; basically because he looks like an ugly sick kid, he's too quiet, he's 22 years old, and he's skinny. hahahahah.
