Construct a team using players from any/all eras

This is just an idea I got the other day, and decided to make a thread out of it, because others may find it fun/interesting. The task is to create a 12 man roster using players from any/all eras of NBA basketball, but your team cannot include any active players, and you can only have ONE hall-of-famer on your roster. Given these restrictions, who would you put on your team?

Again, the restrictions are: no current NBA players, and you can have only one hall-of fame player on your 12 man roster. That includes players who are not yet in the Hall of Fame, but were among the Top 50 greatest NBA players ( like Scottie Pippen for example)

my roster:

PG: Kevin Johnson/Mark Price/
SG: Mitch Richmond/Alvin Robertson
SF: Andrew Toney/ Latrell Sprewell/Reggie Lewis
PF: Chris Webber/Larry Nance/Dennis Rodman
C: Hakeem Olajuwon/ Brad Daughrety

I'm a young guy, so my team is made up of players from the 90's almost exclusively. I'm sure a lot of you could construct teams with more overall talent, but I think this team is pretty nice. The only other players I considered putting on the team were: Larry Johnson, Terry Porter, Mark Aguire and Penny Hardaway.

In creating this thread, I'm only talking about these players in respect to their peak years/primes, even if those peaks were very jagged. I'm interested to see what other posters can come up with.

Note: I didn't include Jordan because I felt like it might be akin to cheating. It'd be too easy.

Do 100% future HoFs count (Kobe, Shaq, Duncan)?

They are all active NBA players, so they can't be used.

PG: Dennis Johnson/Kevin Johnson
SG: Michael Jordan/Sidney Moncrief/Andrew Toney
SF: Bernard King/Mark Aguirre
PF: Dennis Rodman/George McGinnis/Shawn Kemp
C: Artis Gilmore/Brad Daugherty

This team needs some three point shooting, but otherwise it has a lot of playmaking, scoring, rebounding, and defense. I'd add Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, and Mitch Richmond, who are technically eligible, but will certainly be Hall of Famers (except maybe Richmond), in which case I'd stick in a Mark Price or World B. Free at PG. In that same spirit, Chris Webber would be my starting PF, but he's a Hall of Famer almost as soon as he becomes eligible (give or take a few years).

Pg- Maurice Cheeks, Tim Hardaway
Sg- Sidney Moncrief, Andrew Toney, Ricky Pierce
Sf- Bernard King, Bobby Jones, Reggie Theus
Pf- Dennis Rodman, Buck Williams
C- Wilt Chamberlain, Brad Daugherty

Amazing rebounding with Wilt & Rodman. Great back court defense with Cheeks/Moncrief. Plenty of scoring with King,Wilt and instant offense off the bench with Toney,Theus & Pierce.

C: Arvydas Sabonis - Vlade Divac - Bill Laimbeer
F: Chris Webber - Charles Oakley - Horace Grant
F: Bernard King - Glen Rice - Jamal Mashburn
G: Michael Jordan - Penny Hardaway* - Dan Majerle
G: Dennis Johnson - Tim Hardaway - Mark Price

I would seriously consider Bruce Bowen when he no longer is active in place of Mashburn.

*Apparently, Petrovic is in the HOF, so I will replace him with Penny Hardaway, since we're talking about guys at their peak.

^^ That's a 15 man roster, but I suppose it's all the same.

That's a heck of a team, SA37, shame on me for forgetting Glen Rice.

Some name-dropping here... a 12 man roster

C - Artis Gilmore / Mark Eaton / Jack Sikma
PF - Cedric Maxwell / Dennis Rodman
SF - Detlef Schrempf / Bobby Jones / Michael Cooper
SG - Michael Jordan / Vinnie Johnson
PG - Dennis Johnson / Jo Jo White

Watch me roll out that unit Eaton / Rodman / Cooper / Jordan / DJ (plus Jones) and I virtually assure you that no one scores more than 70 on my team.

Well, to be honest, I had a bit of trouble deciding between a few guys, so I figured I'd have 3 for the inactive list :D

My worksheet starts:

C Artis Gilmore Brad Daugherty Jack Sikma
PF Shawn Kemp Chris Webber Dennis Rodman
SF Bernard King Bobby Jones Detlef Schrempf Michael Cooper
SG David Thompson Reggie Lewis Sidney Moncrief Mitch Richmond Reggie Miller
PG Mark Price Dennis Johnson Kevin Johnson

By the way, Petrovic is actually in the Hall of Fame.

SF looks like the weakest position on the list. So my one allowed legend is Larry Bird, and my team is:

C Artis Gilmore Brad Daugherty Jack Sikma
PF Shawn Kemp Dennis Rodman (Sikma) (Schrempf) (Bird)
SF Larry Bird Detlef Schrempf (Rodman)
SG Sidney Moncrief Mitch Richmond
PG Mark Price Kevin Johnson Dennis Johnson

Price and Daugherty are both in when Bird sits, for their pick-and-roll. That's unstoppable on offense. On defense it has 3 All-Defensive Team guys starting (Gilmore, Bird, Moncrief), plus an extra shotblocker (Kemp). Including reserves, DJ, Moncrief, and Rodman were all top-level defensive studs. And the rebounding is pretty serious as well.

Centers: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dan Issel, Alvin Adams
Power Forwards: Truck Robinson, AC Green, Buck Williams
Small Forwards: Scottie Pippen, Bernard King, Marques Johnson
Shooting Guards: David Thompson, Byron Scott,Vinnie Johnson
Point Guards: Norm Nixon, Gus Williams, World B. Free

This team could win 70 with ease.
