Why no worries about Brands injury?

Seems like everyone that is trying to get Brand is ignoring the fact that he sat out pretty much a whole season due to injury. A lot of the times after an injury like that, the player could never be the same. I'm just wondering why everyone seems so certain hes going to return the same player he was over a year ago?

I don't think there are the long term concerns with an achilles injury as there would be with a knee or something similar. Achilles typically take a long initial time, but shouldn't have a lasting impact.

he was already putting up 17/8 after a full season's worth of rust.

Yeah, he looked pretty good at the end of the season when he came back.

I'd be way more worried about Agent 0's knee.

Because it's the type of injury that doens't normally cause concern.
Pierce sat out a lot of the season before last but he looked fine playing in well over 100 games this season as the main scorer on the Celtics.

Well I wouldn't say a ruptured achilles doesn't normally cause concern, that's a pretty serious injury. I'm sure it's on teams' minds. However, he looked damn good when he came back at the end of last season. I'd say he's definitly worth the risk.

I don't want to wish injury to anybody but if Brand gets hurt again, I will not feel sorry for him.
