For his sake I would. That is not the same Clippers team that he agreed to play for and his name isn't on that paper yet. If Im him Im re thinking this situation very strongly.

Why would he do that? So that he can win on some other team instead of making the most money he can get?
Money talks, no matter who you are or how much character you have, apparenlty. F EB.

Clippers were a contender last week and now they are the worst team in the NBA

Let's not go that far...there are some pretty damn bad teams out there. We weren't even close to the bottom without Brand or Davis last season.

Will Baron settle for a 5 year MLE deal with the Lakers? He does want to play in Los Angeles.

Baron Davis
Kobe Bryant
Lamar Odom
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum

Are you going to pay him the difference in contracts?

HAHA you guys have all been fools.
Chris Mullin is very good friends with people in the 76ers organization. He owes them one, he and Baron agreed that Davis would 'verbally' agree to sign with the Clippers; LAC takes their bird rights back, giving Philly an advantage at getting Brand. Once Brand signs with Philly, Baron quickly makes his way back to Golden State and agrees to take a paycut from the team so they can get a good role player. In this case, it was Corey Maggette but they probably could have gotten someone better.

You guys aren't that much better giving Maggette $50 million.

He'll take the money. I bet the Clips do something stupid like mortgaging their future to get another player and "win now".

I hope they do. I'm tired of being in rebuilding mode for the last few decades.

As a Warrior fan I still believe Davis made the right decision. The Warriors were not giving him the years/money he wanted so he went elsewhere. It would have been nice for him to inform the team of his opting out sooner, but this is business first and he made a business decision. Ultimately I think he is not going to change his mind simply because no other team can/will pay him 65 million. It would be funny(not for the rest of the league) if he decided to take the MLE from the Lakers.
